Jefferson went above and beyond what a normal innkeeper would do. After leaving my phone in Oregon and putting me an hour late into the area, by the time I got there the only local restaurant was closed. Jefferson put together a traditional Chinese boiled cabbage dinner for me with all the fixings. Xi Xi
This is my 3rd visit to Royal Tree Villas motel. Is a nice, quiet and run by a family. The owner, I think his name is Johnson, he is very hospitable, kind and helpful. The room is nice and clean, in the room they provide ample amounts of coffee, tea, bottles of water and instant noodles. I recommend you stop by if your are travelling and need a place to crash near the redwoods and redwood hwy.
Absolutely horrible. Ignore the positive reviews. Those are most likely fake. This is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. When you first walk into the room, you’re greeted with a mildewy sewage smell. The water from the pipe smells like rust and has flakes of rust in it. The shower is disgusting and looks like you’ll most likely give you a foot infection. The bed is lumpy and uncomfortable and all night long you’ll hear dogs barking. The skinny mangey dogs they let just free roam around the property and do whatever they want. In the morning you’ll be woken by crowing roosters. If you are able I strongly recommend you drive further to anywhere else.
Cozy little motel with friendly owners. Our room was clean and pleasantly decorated, and the bed was comfortable. No TV, which was a plus–it was nice to sit outside and enjoy the quiet. There’s a lovely little outdoor seating area to enjoy the weather or look at the stars. I was happy to find an electric tea kettle for the morning as well. Bring your own drinking water, as others have mentioned. If you like staying in chain hotels, this might not be for you, but if you want a unique experience give it a shot!
