This place was delicious, I came in expecting “just another chicken spot” and left questioning every other chicken place I’ve ever been to. The staff were friendly, the food came out hot, the wings and different flavors were amazing.

I ordered delivery from here. I am glad new food options are opening in Oakley that isn’t another Mexican Food Restaurant, don’t get me wrong, I enjoy Mexican food but Oakley has way too many Mexican food restaurants to choose from and only a few that are actually above average.

From Rocki’s I had some tenders tossed in garlic Parmesan and Lemon Pepper sauce, and I had a chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce. What I had was what I would consider OK, but not as good as Angry Chicks or Dave’s Hot Chicken in Brentwood. Without the sauces on the chicken tenders, the tenders would be somewhat bland. I’m no expert, but I feel a good tender should be able to stand on its own without sauces, an improvement in the tender coating could be in order. My sandwich also came with garlic fries, my only complaint here is that the garlic fries did not appear to be tossed, and rather maybe the garlic was poured on top of the fries so some of the fries where uncovered in garlic. I think tossing the fries some more in the garlic would have helped. I will update this review after trying the chicken wings some time in the future.

Additionally, I think there’s an opportunity here as a chicken focused restaurant to capitalize on the lack of fried chicken competitors, especially in Oakley. Right now there’s only Popeyes and maybe some gas station fried chicken in town. Rocki’s is located in a somewhat central location in Oakley, I think Rocki’s could benefit greatly by offering more fried chicken options (legs, thighs, breast, etc) because there aren’t many other places doing it in Oakley.

We stopped by before the official grand opening.

The customer service was 12/10 and the general vibes were impeccable!

The tenders were amazing. I read a few other reviews that noted they were dry. These were definitely not greasy tenders but the meat was NOT dry. They were large and cooked perfectly. We tried teriyaki (10/10 would cover everything in this,) and salt & pepper (also great!)

The wings were perfectly cooked and sauced (garlic parm was very garlic heavy, if that’s your jam,) and lemon pepper was ok (wish this was a dry rub option, the sauce was a bit too lemony for me personally but no one else seemed to mind.)

The loaded tots were sadly a bit underwhelming. The tots were good (get them crispy!!) the cheese was a bit of half melted shredded mozzarella and if I had to guess there was about half a tender chopped up (this was on a small order.) While each part of these was good – definitely not what I’d considered “loaded.” I probably wouldn’t get this again, I’d opt for the tender combo.

Overall for this being a soft opening, it was a truly wonderful experience and we will absolutely be back!

Not impressed. Large loaded fries suppose to have cheese. It maybe had two strands of cheese. I do not recommend eating at this place for $18.30 for a basket of fries with minimal chicken and two strands of cheese.

Amazing food, this is a must try if you love wings. We had the loaded fries and wings and all the flavors were delicious. The chicken on the fries was super juicy and my kid loved her kid combo. Check them out.
