The price they charge for night in this decrepid establishment is absurd for the subpar quality of room and abysmal service. They don’t even have a receptionist most of the time, just a kiosk that video calls someone they can pay less than a real receptionist.

The room was fine but the bed was extremely firm, bordering on hard. The water tastes terrible and the Wifi wouldn’t connect from the far side of the room. But the room is not my reason for the scathing review, its the service.

The service makes you feel like you are assumed to be a thief.
Snarky–passive aggressive signs about how they will charge you if anything were to be missing from the room, in combination with the $100 hold on your card they require. Not to mention the guy sitting in the breakfast room auditing your room number. Which I suppose they prioritize over having a real receptionist.

Overrall awful experience and made me regret choosing to stop in the town on our roadtrip.

We stayed here over the July 4th long weekend and had a decent stay, but there were definitely some hits and misses. Overall, it functions fine as a basic 3-star property, but at a holiday rate of $200/night, it felt overpriced for what was delivered.
    The Good:
Fantastic Location: The absolute best part of this hotel. It’s highly walkable. We were able to walk straight to the pier to catch the holiday fireworks, and we walked over to the beautiful Carson Mansion / Ingomar Club nearby to watch their light show.
Comfortable Sleep: The beds were very comfortable, and both the sheets and the bathrooms/towels were clean.
Family-Friendly Pools: The swimming pool is on the smaller side, but if you have kids, it’s a great little perk to keep them entertained.
Decent Breakfast: The breakfast was a win for our family. They had grocery store style mini muffins and doughnuts, plus bagels, bread with cream cheese, cereal, and milk. The kids enjoyed the Pop-Tarts and the pancakes (which they heat up from frozen in the microwave), and they also had pre made small omelets. The coffee at breakfast was surprisingly good.
    The Bad (Minus 2 Stars):
Cleanliness & Maintenance Issues: While the bedding and bathroom were clean, the room itself needed a deeper cleaning. The in-room coffee machine had a visible layer of dust, so we didn’t use it. The dressers and drawers hadn’t been emptied out properly and were also dusty inside. To top it off, the hair dryer was old and completely dead.
Frustrating Tech : They use virtual assistants for the check-in and check-out process. This made customer service feel slow and detached. It takes way too long to get them to understand a situation or act on a problem.
Verdict: Great location, comfy beds, and a helpful breakfast, but the lack of attention to detail in room cleaning, broken amenities, and clunky virtual service pull it down to a 3-star experience.

The location is great if you love walking around. The room very clean and neat. Great options to open windows for night time adding fresh air.
    Overall we had nice time.

My recent stay at the Ramada Bay in Eureka was disappointing and did not reflect the level of professionalism guests should expect for the price paid.

At check‑in, I was informed of a one hundred dollar hold on my card “in case guests destroy property.” While I understand standard deposits, the way this was communicated was unnecessary and set an uncomfortable tone.

During breakfast, guests were monitored and repeatedly asked for their room numbers, despite the fact that access to the breakfast area already required a key. The approach felt intrusive and unprofessional.

I also informed the front desk that I would be checking out at eleven in the morning. However, at ten thirty, while I was getting dressed after showering, housekeeping opened my door without knocking. I had to physically stop the door from opening further. A simple knock would have prevented this entirely.

The rooms were clean and the pet‑friendly policy is appreciated, but management should ensure that staff treat guests with courtesy and respect. Not every traveler is there to party or cause damage. Many of us simply expect a peaceful stay and basic professionalism.
