This is such a beautiful place that I feel proud of myself for finding it on the map and deciding to come here without hesitation. It’s a place I will always remember as an unforgettable spot to walk with someone special. Being able to walk here with my dogs made me truly happy. I didn’t just come once—I visited almost every day.
I recommend bringing a camping chair. Buy a coffee at the entrance, set up your chair in a spot you love, and simply enjoy the time. For me, it’s just one of many lighthouses that are so beautiful and meaningful, and simply watching from here was more than enough.
I feel endless gratitude that this place has been opened up so everyone can enjoy it.
There are no trash bins or dog waste bags available. Please make sure to take all the trash you and your pet create with you.
A nice place to spend an hour or two along the Northern California coastline. $10 to drive out to the lighthouse and there is a small gift shop/exhibit about the history of the place. It has some excellent views north & south, and for a little extra you can go up into the lighthouse on a guided tour. Worthwhile stop along the coast highway.
Stay away from cliff edges, esp w/children. Hold onto them. Often high winds. GORGEOUS scenery but the dramatic cliffs are not safe. Great photo ops. Just be aware at all times. Closed early at 4:30p.m. there are places to stay over night. Lots of parking.
This place is gorgeous! Very interesting history and fantastic views when the fog allows. I highly recommend taking the tour. My wife and I lucked out since we were the only ones taking the tour at the time. Maisy was an incredibly knowledgeable hostess and Joe and Alejandro were awesome! Breathtaking views, again , when the weather cooperates.
