Spacious, lowkey so you have space to shop, and friendly and local. There are doves as well

Visited this nursery because I live nearby and it had excellent reviews. Unfortunately it was pretty poorly stocked and lots of the plants that were available seemed pretty rough. Several citrus trees that have very obvious nutrient issues, and dying/dead herbs.

It’s winter right now so maybe it’s just a seasonality thing, especially since there’s no indoor/greenhouse area here. But, I would have expected more options for folks looking to start plants indoors and even the soil/container options were pretty limited.

Will stop by again when it’s spring to see if there’s more shopping options.

The actual space is quite nice, with gardens that you can go through next to the retail space. I’m not sure if they offer community gardens or anything like that, but the overall vibe for me at least was definitely more “community gardens with plants for sale” than it was “nursery”.

Bonnie is awesome. She has answered so many of my newbie questions about growing tomatoes and helped me get the right stuff! This place seems like a great nonprofit, and the space is so peaceful.

This place is like a beautiful oasis and not like any other nursery I’ve seen! The prices are very reasonable and the staff is passionate and well informed. A lot of the various plants have handwritten descriptions of the history, use, and growing habits, which is really helpful when garden planning, and just neat to learn certain things about it. There’s a chicken coop and a pigeon rescue aviary that can keep the kids entertained while you shop around, or for your own viewing enjoyment! It’s tucked back on the far end of island but well worth the visit!

This place is wonderful and supports a great nonprofit for battered men and women (so said the woman! :))). Plants were great, staff friendly and super helpful and the nursery is also it’s own garden, so you can walk around and look at the plants. Lots of options, would definitely recommend!
