This is a nice place to stay BUT I was very disappointed at what I thought I was getting by what the website said vs what I actually got when I arrived. I went for one night on a Thursday to a Friday. The website and actual sign when you arrive says hot tub. There is NO community Hot tub. Website advertise the Ocean cove restaurant is open daily 8-8 which is not true. It’s open Friday to Monday 12-8. The room it’s self is fine but I was looking forward to the hot tub and food. It’s difficult to find food in the area as there is no where else to eat being on the coast..The women running the front desk was not the nicest. We had a child get car sick on the way up the coast hoping we could check in a bit early. She said come at 2pm ( check in is 3pm) I showed up at 2:40 to be told definitely can’t check in. One person cleaning all 12 rooms and 20 minutes was 20 minutes..I won’t be going back.. I’d rather stay at the Ocean cove campground..
Beautiful location but I had a terrible stay in room 14. I stopped for one night while biking down the coast, and I’m really not picky. All I need are wifi, a shower, a bed, and coffee. They failed me on every count:
– They have a weird wifi system to limit number of connected devices. I spent 20 minutes handing my phone to an employee so he could try to get this to work on my phone before he gave up and connected me to the employee wifi. They said this is because they have starlink but high quality routers would relieve any concern about connecting too many devices.
– The shower was really small. There was also no where to put soaps, so I had them on the floor, but with how small the shower is I couldn’t bend over to get soap without pressing my butt into the cold wall.
– The shower was also stuck on the hottest setting, but I was able to fix that by tightening the handle because I had a screwdriver with me.
– The bed was very uncomfortable. The worst mattress I can remember sleeping on, including cheap motels that cost a third as much.
– Their site lists coffee and tea as an amenity, but there isn’t any in my room. I didn’t notice this when I checked in and now I’ve woken up to find there’s no way within miles to get coffee before 8 or 9 AM.
They also charge a 3% fee to pay online with a card, but there’s no other way to pay… Just bake it into the price!
Reserved the Fireplace Room. The Wi- fi code we received didn’t work. No coffee pot in the room even though is says in the reservation. We were told some rooms include, but this one doesn’t. We brought ip the fact that it’s in the reservation, still told not this Room. So if your a coffee drinker, make sure you spin the wheel and get the one with a coffee pot or bring your own.
We were driving the coast, had limited internet service, and didn’t plan ahead. This was our roadtrip adventure, so we just stopped by and asked for a room. Service was pleasant and given the last minute booking, we selected the smallest and cheapest room available at $170 inclusive of tax. Room #9 was no bigger than a closet and smelled of mildew. As soon as I looked inside, I closed the door to ask for a bigger room or refund. It was going to cost $100 more to change rooms and it was getting dark. We went back to the room and I quietly cried. It was one step above sleeping in a tent and I should have thought about sleeping in my car. I don’t know how this rated 4.5 stars.
Location is 5 stars. The room selection is interesting, some rooms are remodeled, originally we selected an older room with two beds but were able to transfer to newly remodeled room 4.
We didn’t expect breakfast, as it wasn’t in our listing so we brought our own. Room was clean, bathroom fresh, and we had a nice drawer closet organizer provided.
5 minutes to Fort Ross, 45 minutes up to Pt Arena, a lot of open space to explore!
