This one of the best campgrounds I have stayed. Though it’s a private campground, but it costed only $45 per car if pay cash. I got the campsite close to the bluff. I walk a few feet away and I could see the ocean. I am planning to come back here in fall to see the night sky.

Love this place. Owners rock. Always friendly. Don’t expect a designated spot though. Find an open fire pit and picnic table and call it home. Get here early and get an incredible ocean bluff spot like we have the last couple years!

This campgrounds has 80 different sites. They have many porta potties scattered about. They have relatively no signs which makes it very difficult to find a water source. The sites were clean enough for me. The land is uneven which makes sleeping on a tent difficult.

Ocean Cove is truly a hidden gem on the California coast! The breathtaking ocean views, dramatic cliffs, and peaceful atmosphere make this place unforgettable. We spent a wonderful day exploring the shoreline, watching the waves crash against the rocks, and enjoying the beauty of nature all around us.
One important tip for visitors: don’t underestimate the sun! Even when the sky is completely covered with fog or clouds, the UV rays can still be very strong near the coast. We learned this the hard way and got sunburned despite the overcast weather. Make sure to wear sunscreen and protect your skin, even if the sun isn’t visible.

What’s not to love about this campsite? It’s located on Highway 1, north of Bodega Bay. Most campsites have a fire ring where you can burn wood and hang out by the campfire. The staff are friendly and the sites are clean.
There are no hookups, so you will be doing dry camping. There are plenty of outhouse sites, aka Honey Buckets and water spickets scattered throughout the park. There is one area where you can take an open roof shower. Make sure to bring quarters. The shower operates on 3 dollars worth of quarters, and for that, you get 6 minutes of hot water to wash yourself.
Quiet time is from 9pm to 9am. So sleep is wonderful. We were just there this past week, Monday night, until Wednesday morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
There’s a few hiking trails with breathtaking views. The store across the street offers fresh coffee in the morning and plenty of snacks, stickers, and camping food in case you don’t want to take a trip to the nearby restaurants.
This campsite is 1st come, 1st serve. Check in and out at the Ocean Cove Store across the street from the camp ground.
I highly recommend this campground.
