This is a great takeout spot in Redwood City, specializing in charcoal-grilled Japanese donburi rice bowls.
I ordered the Miso Glazed Salmon Donburi and the Petite Basque Cheesecake. The salmon was tender with a savory miso glaze, and paired with white rice, broccoli, and pickles. A well-balanced and filling meal. Basque cheesecake was the biggest surprise. It’s not a traditional type, but you can still recognize the classic cheesecake flavor. It isn’t overly sweet, and the rich, creamy cake pairs perfectly with the silky matcha creme anglaise. The matcha sauce was so amazing, it’s smooth, earthy, light sweet and made every bite better.
Overall, everything was delicious and well executed. If you’re looking for a quality Japanese takeout, I’d definitely recommend giving this place a try!
