We came here for my dad’s birthday dinner. It was only 4:30, so there wasn’t anyone in the restaurant, but several orders of takeout came through while we were there. Alex was our server and has such a big welcoming smile. We had the caprese salad and dipping bread. It was good. Then we had bulgogi beef, Korean short ribs, chicken and garlic butter sauce. The vegetarian Ethiopian plate and a wedge salad. The food was all delicious. And all the entrees came with the side salad with mixed greens, tomatoes and balsamic dressing. When I told Alex it was my dad’s 80th birthday, he said that we need to have a treat. Him and his wife brought out coconut honey cornbread and sang Happy Birthday. This was the highlight of our meal. It was delicious.
We had such a phenomenal experience here. We walked in through the front door and were greeted with blue zone cookbooks and small canned items for sale. It was busy but we didn’t mind- we were met with a warm smile by one of the servers almost immediately and were told to take our pick of tables- we chose to go outside as it wasn’t too warm yet. We met one of the owners who is also one of the chefs and he couldn’t have been more kind and warm. The servers were just lovely and offered excellent recommendations and conversation. We ordered the meat and veggie combo off of the Eritrean/Ethiopean menu. The check in and lamb fell off the bone, collard greens were cooked to perfection, the lentils were delicious, the potatoes were scrumptious, the spices were balanced and plentiful, the injera (sourdough “bread” but more like a tortilla shape and main utensil for the stews) was so lovely. We ate off of each others plates and could not ingest it fast enough. We had to slow down to enjoy it but it was just so good. This group of well traveled people have created an international menu in a Swiss style house and offer more than just food- we felt like family! I’m not sure when we will be back to the area but if you are here and enjoy healthy and delicious food, you MUST EAT HERE.
Such a cute place with deliciously amazing food and the best service! The most welcoming and kind people who made us feel so homely. Must try the roasted beets and housedrinks. Such a great vibe, highly recommend stopping by this hidden gem of a place!
Hidden charm with lake view, amazing unique recipes, kind staff, comfy vibes, flowers growing everywhere, relaxed, romantic, perfect for a small wedding or birthday celebration, highly recommend! Love the beets and chili and calm vibes.
I love this place!!! The service was warm and the food was delicious. The lentil soup was my favorite. Prices are really reasonable for the quality and quantity.
The spot is right across from Lucerne Alpine Park. If the weather’s nice, sit outside for the lake view. Or eat inside and take a walk through the park after.
Definitely a hidden gem in the Clear Lake/Lucerne area. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting.
Also, the sunset from that park is beautiful.
