We learned about Lawsons in May 2025. Since then we have been about seven times.
This is now one of our top favorite places to trailer camp.

Between the sunsets, the mostly empty private beach, and the delicious crab we can self catch… What more are you looking for?

We always order a dozen oysters a week before we decide to come in and they are always fresh and delicious!

They recently added real bathrooms with coin-op showers. Such a great bonus to this already great campground.

Some people say they don’t like it because it feels like a parking lot, but we have not had the same experience. The seawall area is predominantly trailers however I find the meadow area to be a nice blend of trailer trailers and tent campers.

You’re camping on the coast so tent Camping really can feel like tent camping, especially on colder nights where the wind kicks up really high.

This place is five stars for us.

Great little spot. The drive in and out was incredible. Came here after we didn’t get any Dungeness crabs at Bodega Bay jetty. The conditions were not optimal. We were using hoop rings. The current was crazy strong , we didn’t go at the right time of day and we were late in the season. That being said we still caught quite a few from the shore. They just weren’t legal. We will try again next time. Great place tho, pretty and had a lot of amenities. Note there is no pier or dock, they are using a tractor to pull boats out.

I love this place, the staffs are friendly and welcoming. Crabbing is pretty decent of you know what to look for. I love the fact that you can park, camp and cast your crab snare. You can get crabs during low tides, high tides. Family environment and if you go on the weekends it’s pretty much packed, I like to go during the weekdays. Less crowded and more chance of catching them Dungies.
