I wish I could write a better review but others need to know how poor the upkeep is here. The shared woman’s bathroom is abhorrent. It’s always filthy and the trash bin overflows with paper towels. One of the toilets overflows onto the floor every time you flush it. The floors are muddy with scraps of wet toilet paper everywhere. A bandaid in the shower is still there 24 hours later. I tried to look past it all but last night I informed the front desk that the women’s room ran out of toilet paper and this morning I returned to the bathroom and it was still not refilled. To me, that’s just negligent. To pay nearly $200 a night to stay in a tent with bathroom conditions like that is not worth it.

Chris the manager on duty was very kind and took care of a situation when I tripped on something in the campground. ⛺️ hurt my leg a bit ., but he gave me some nice firewood and made things nice 🙂 campground is cute., close to town… like 1 minute.. and has great river access. They have kept prices low when others are outrageous (river bend lol) thanks Chris !
Aside from this, just know that you can’t pull your car up to the majority of the campsites so bring something or rolling part or lots of people to help. It was pretty hard for me loading and unloading.
There are no water sticks near the campsites But there does seem to be some power. The campground is extremely noisy and close to the street where there’s lots of addicts and noisy people yelling and screaming at all hours of the night. I probably won’t come back here just cause I’m a camper that like a little more relaxing vibes but if you’re here with a family or a group, you could have fun. The beach act is pretty nice. It’s just kind of like parking lot camping.

We stayed in a glamping tent as did a few other friends, and we also had friends of ours who stayed in a tiny cabin with their kid. For the price we paid (about $160 booked well in advance), this place exceeded our expectations. The price for overnight accommodations was less than half that of River Electric, where we spent the day. You can park right next to your tent and from there it’s a short walk to downtown to enjoy the restaurants and bars. We got a campfire going in the quiet and peaceful morning, and it was also special to be able to walk down to the river itself in the before the crowds arrived. I do recommend you bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper, it would be a nice touch if they provided these.

The staff are so friendly. Chris was very helpful throughout the day with everything we needed. Moreover, he was a fun conversationalist.
We enjoyed making a fire in one of the fire pits and met other friendly travelers. Other reviews about homeless made us skeptical about booking, but we didn’t see that during our entire stay. We felt very safe on the premises.
The heritage cabins have a nostalgic early 1900s vibe that reminds you of national parks. The room was extremely clean and all the fixtures were well kept. Though the room has no heat, the mattresses can be heated with a push of a button.
The location can’t be beat. Downtown is a 3 minute walk. Kayaks can be rented off season at R2D2. Johnson’s Beach is quite large for a river beach.
Starting the 3rd week of May, you can rent canoes and kayaks directly from the resort.
The safeway is a 5 minute walk in case you want to buy things to grill.
