We traveled almost 6 hours to go to Jack’s. It’s a sentimental place for my husband. He dined there with his buddies on their fishing trips, one of those guys had since passed. We checked in just after 5 PM and were quoted a 30 minute wait time. We got drinks, sat on the patio and enjoyed the atmosphere. An hour later we still did not shave a table but the many locals who came in did. We were finally seared, after our child had a meltdown at 6:30. It took another 10 minutes to get a server while the locals around us received food. Ten minutes later we got a server. This was the fat cap from my “filet”. I was so excited to eat at Jack’s. Sad to say it was a pour showing. The bartender was very nice!

Traveled through Redding and wanted taste of local cuisine for a good steak. We found Jack’s and found not a good steak but a Great steak place. Service was sincere and attentive. No issue getting table/booth on a Wednesday evening. Highly recommend old fashion steak place.

Went to Jack’s Grill in downtown Redding with a small group of coworkers and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. We all ordered the ribeye with the house salad and a mix of baked potatoes or fries. Portions were generous, the steaks were cooked right, and for a ribeye the price felt more than reasonable.

The place has that old school, historic Redding vibe that you just can’t fake. Dim lighting, no nonsense service, and a tradition that has been around for decades. It’s the kind of spot where you instantly understand why locals keep it alive.

If you’re looking for a classic steakhouse experience in downtown Redding, Jack’s is still the go to.

Atmosphere and history+++!! Cocktails and vino compliment a very simple menu of prime cuts of steak, potato or fries and a chop salad with real blue cheese. Get there early! If you are looking for a perfect steak, this is the spot!

We asked where the best steaks in Redding were and it was Jack’s Grill all the way. The steak was indeed good but left unseasoned so salt and pepper was required. The cooking was perfect medium rare and the baked potato came with loads of butter and sour cream mixed with chives. Very tasty. Soggy side salad, decent garlic toast, lively atmosphere, reasonable prices, full bar for those who drink. Nice outdoor patio.
