We spent 3 nights here in May 2026. We loved the location. We loved the grounds and all the flowers. We loved Mendocino. Our room had a nice view out to the ocean (at a bit of a distance). We would probably return here but our experience was that the older B&Bs like this one tended to have a bit more dust than we wished to put up with. The rugs on the bedroom floors were old and worn. The headboard on our bed was stained with … head imprints from many guests. The inn itself was nice. We were a little underwhelmed by the staff and the service they provided. Our in-room breakfasts were delivered to our door so that was nice. The food, however, was generally pretty marginal. If we get back to Mendocino someday we would stay here again … but we might first try to get a room at the MacCallum House a couple blocks away.

I stayed in the Packard House and really enjoyed the relatively modern interior, spaciousness of the room, and attention to detail. Additionally the partial ocean view and beautiful courtyard below enhanced the serenity of the venue.
The sub-10 minute walk to the heart of town made bouncing around to different activities seamless regardless of the hour.
Finally the complimentary wine hour + fresh baked cookies are absolutely worth taking advantage of!

I stayed at the jd house for two wonderful nights this month. I had a spacious patio with an amazing view of the ocean. The room was great with nice products. The room was spacious and had a mini fridge as well! Wine and cheese hour was lovely. Breakfast gets delivered each morning around 8:30am and included so y delicious options. Mendocino is such a cute and charming town with great restaurants, shops and views.

Came for my birthday weekend and SO glad we chose this Inn. Great communication prior to arrival, amazing little breakfast delivered to our room with fresh juice and coffee, cozy fireplace in our room, and wine hour everyday with ocean views from the patio. Would recommend to everyone!

Very nice place to stay while in Mendocino. The room was nice. They had a wine and cheese get together every day at 4.
Breakfast is brought to your room – but you could eat in the dining room. The chef plans and prepares the breakfast each morning – so be sure to let them know ahead of time if you have any restrictions.
Easy walk to everything in town. Just don’t park under the trees – your car will thank you in the morning.
