We got in early, and met Sage, who took us on a little tour, including the Phatty Cline bar which was closed. Very nice and told us a lot about the history of the Inn. When we checked in to our room, we were amazed. Victorian in theme and very comfortable. We had to take pictures, which is not a common thing for us in a hotel room. A block or so away from the bay boardwalk and nice restaurants. Would definitely come back to the Inn.
I recently stayed at The Inn at 2nd & C and absolutely loved my experience. The property itself is a very cute, beautifully preserved Victorian landmark that instantly transports you back in time while keeping you perfectly comfortable. Every detail within the historic building feels unique and thoughtful.
While the inn itself is wonderful, the
surrounding area of Eureka left me hoping for a bit more. I truly hope the city can undergo some meaningful revitalization in the near future. This historic inn is such a treasure, and it deserves to fully capitalize on a thriving, vibrant downtown neighborhood. I highly recommend a stay here for the charm and hospitality, and I look forward to returning as the city grows around it.
Overall great character just leaves you underwhelmed.
Very unique architecture of this period building, which in the center had a dance floor and stage with a beautiful stained glass skylight ceiling. Bathroom tile and fixtures were clean and new. Some of the staff were friendly and provided good recommendations on restaurants and things to do in the area (others seemed to be bothered by interruptions and we even heard one staff member say to a guest frustratingly “I’m trying but there are 60 of you and only one of me”
Wanted to love it due to the exceptionally interesting character of the building and unique architectural period design inside, but as a whole it’s a bit worn/faded and missing nice touches which would help you look past the creaky/shabby furniture in the room which comes across as flea market finds rather than well cared for antiques. There is a generally uncomfortable atmosphere near lobby/dining area/hallways as guests seemed to have to be walking on eggshells to not make noise and disturb other guests or the staff at their desk. There were broken stair railings laying on the roof directly outside our room window which also had a view of a small homeless encampment (which got cleared out after two days), Mildew/algae/mossy/weathered awning at entrance, miscellaneous houseplants in not great condition placed randomly around
The Inn at 2nd and C is charming and full of character. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable and had several thoughtfully added amenities such as a space heater or a white noise machine. The room was clean and the breakfast had a nice selection. The location close to the historic downtown was perfect. Highly recommend this place.
Such a cozy and charming place to stay! This Victorian hotel has so much character and made for a really unique experience. loved all the historic touches and appreciated that it felt warm and welcoming rather than cookie-cutter like so many other hotels. Older buildings naturally have their quirks, but that’s part of the charm, and it makes the stay feel special. The bed was comfy, the water hot and consistent, and staff was welcoming.
