Bed Bug Infestation, Staff Misconduct & Uninhabitable Conditions

I have been staying here for several weeks. What started as a difficult situation became significantly worse due to this motel’s negligence.

Bed Bugs: I discovered bed bugs in my room after spending time on the couch. Both myself and my travel companion have been bitten extensively, with marks all over our arms and body. We photographed live bed bugs on the hotel towels and mattress. The mattresses are visibly heavily stained and in poor condition.

No accountability: Instead of taking responsibility, the motel put the full burden on us, expecting us to cover laundry costs to treat our belongings despite the infestation being entirely their fault. When we politely asked for help, a front desk staff member yelled and refused. They even blame us for infesting other rooms as they have to move us???

Staff misconduct: We were subjected to repeated verbal abuse, raised voices, profanity, and dismissive treatment. Staff verbally stated we would not be charged for the bed bug incidents. That promise was not honored.

If I could rate 0 stars I would. The room was dismal, nails protruding out of the flooring, lighting fixtures hanging crookedly from walls, and cleaning service must be requested each individual day of your stay, or your room will be skipped. Breakfast? Joke and a half. The lazy hostess didn’t even put out coffee both mornings I was there. She even waited for people to show up for breakfast BEFORE beginning to put out food(over an hour late mind you). I will highly recommend staying in any other hotel in Chico, rather than stay in this desolate slum.
