We had an amazing time at Mendocino thanks to Headlands Inn for making our stay so comfortable. The room was very clean, staff were kind, and breakfast was delicious. Plus they baked cookies for guests! We will definitely be back.
The inn is a wonderful place to stay in a stunning setting. The fresh, lovingly made breakfasts are delivered to your room and we had the added pleasure of the deck off of Wilson room where you can see the ocean. A perfect anniversary trip made special by John and Ashley
best location to roam around the town of mendocino and have sweeping coastal views just at minutes walking distance. The room service was very good. The host was super welcoming and friendly. Gave us info about the areas to explore around. The wilson room had in room breakfast which was such wonderfully presented. would recommend staying here
I didn’t want to be mean and give 3 stars, but the cons were; no hot water when I tried to fill the jacuzzi tub after a 6+ hour drive to get there. No bathrobes as it says there are on the web site, no means of having coffee in your room or the common room, one bath towel per night provided. Sparse personnel to tell. I left a a phone message. The water was hot the next morning but bathrobes never materialized so I didn’t try the jacuzzi tub again because I would have a wet towel in the morning. Also the bed was super small not even a queen but a double I’m pretty sure. This was the dog friendly room the cottage. I thought I had read that they provide dog amenities but we didn’t get any so small dog also shared small bed. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was substantial. Also the bathroom was large. The “carriage house”. We didn’t watch tv which was small and off center of the couch. There was a microbe didn’t use but the fridge was larger than most. Fresh flowers are declared in the rooms. We didn’t get them till morning breakfast. A small bouquet but I liked it. But alas the room service removed them so no fresh flowers either even though they were blooming everywhere. beautiful surroundings plenty of places for dog walks with dog bags in the park very near in case you forgot yours. Very close to the many great shops and peaceful walking to them. Also close to the headlands cliff trail that I ran ond morning and great restaurants and a coffee shop open at 0700. We will return
Breakfasts were a delight! Besides the delicious food, the breakfast tray had a beautiful small arrangement of fresh flowers and greens that we kept in our room every day.
The location was excellent. Everything in town is within walking distance and the people were friendly. We loved walking home after dinner in the natural quiet of a small village with little or no auto traffic.
We moved from Annie’s room to Strauss because we extended our stay. Annie’s room was fine but small. Strauss has a lovely bay window looking out on the ocean and some other delightful properties where we could just sit, relax and “enjoy life”.
