If you want to go back in time(this is the place). Troy & Sarah including all members where extremely helpful and friendly. The room was clean and hospitable, breakfast was delicious and the menu is properly catered – its more than enough to help you start the day. There is two charging park spots one for Tesla (works better in low charge) & universal. The location by itself is not bad(but the homelessness is very visible(this is mostly a city issue and not the hotels responsibility) overall Carter House is a amazing place.

The historic architecture is truly impressive.
Our accommodations were located on the street level, featuring a private entrance. It appears that the lower section of this Victorian structure does not possess the same aesthetic appeal as the upper levels. This is historically consistent, as these rooms were typically occupied by service staff during the 19th century.
While the antique furnishings offer a distinct charm, the contemporary abstract artwork seems incongruous with the overall decor, in my professional opinion as an artist. The other art pieces displayed throughout the residence were quite commendable.
Our stay was generally satisfactory, with the exception of the pillows. They were, regrettably, the most uncomfortable I have encountered. It seemed as though they were original to the 19th-century furnishings and the property itself.
The breakfast service was exceptionally well-executed and presented. The complimentary wine selection was also of a high standard.

Beautiful, but old timey rooms. A little quirky (separate hot and cold faucets in the sinks in our room) but really charming and the staff has been amazing!
We had a great meal at their restaurant, Restaurant 301. Everything was delicious, the service was excellent and their wine list is just incredible!
I would certainly recommend the Carter House to anyone visiting Eureka.

We had a wonderful experience staying at Carter House. We arrived really late but communicated with the staff and received specific instructions so that we could enter the Inn and our room. Exhausted, it was a wonderful surprise to see a room simple but elegantly decorated. There were quality amenities. The bathrob was so soft and comfortable. The water pressure was good and the shower head felt like the water was massaging my back. I loved having plenty of pillows on the bed. We slept very well each night. Our stay came with breakfast which was delicious and with appropriate portions. We saw the staff in the morning and they were friendly, kind, helpful and professional.(We were out fir the day and returned late.) I look forward to returning and encourage anyone wanting a wonderful experience to try Carter House Inn and Restaurant. (I kept forgetting to take before photos so the bed and bathroom are not as it was when we arrived.)
