I was falling asleep, driving and was driving through laytonville. I was all by myself, driving ten hours and I was so incredibly tired. It was 3:30am and I just called to see if there were rooms available. When the lady answered I said ” i’m so sorry to call so late but i’m so tired and falling asleep driving. How much would it be for from now till checkout?” She was silent. Then, I just asked, do you have any rooms available?And she said, no, and hung up on me….

This was not a planned stay; the electric car and I both ran out of juice sooner than I expected. There is a big bank of chargers within walking distance. The room is clean, quiet, bigger than average. The heater works quickly (loud but white noise loud). Water gets and stays hot, good pressure. The folx running it are kind and easy going. Rates are great. I checked in at 10pm, exhausted and frazzled- my partner found this place for me and booked it from home because there is no (or very poor) cell service between eureka and here. It has a little fridge, microwave, coffee pot. Dinette, tv, vanity outside of the bathroom. It’s not a “destination vacation town,” but I’d stay here again.
