My daughter’s cocktail was an unpleasant tequila mixture, and the Chardonnay I ordered had an unusually yellow color and a strong plastic-like taste. One sip was enough for me to stop drinking it.
We ordered a filet mignon to share with white rice and vegetables. The steak was much too rare for our medium-well preference, the vegetables were dry, and the rice was undercooked. Even such a simple meal failed to meet our expectations.
However, the worst part was the server’s attitude. When we politely asked about the size of the plates, his explanation was unclear and his gestures suggested they were oversized. Rather than clarifying the matter professionally, he became defensive and confrontational. The plates turned out to be perfectly ordinary, standard-sized plates. His condescending tone made a simple request unnecessarily uncomfortable.
Customer service should never make guests feel as though they are being challenged for asking a simple question. A server’s job is to communicate clearly, remain courteous, and make customers feel welcome not to become defensive or speak in a condescending manner. Throughout the evening, his tone and attitude came across as arrogant and dismissive, leaving us feeling uncomfortable rather than welcomed.
The restaurant is nicely decorated, but an attractive atmosphere cannot compensate for poor food, disappointing drinks, and unprofessional customer service.
We will not be returning. Based on our experience, I would encourage others to think twice before choosing this restaurant. A pleasant dining experience requires more than attractive decor; it requires quality food, good drinks, and staff who treat customers with courtesy and respect.

Amazing food. Absolutely amazing. This restaurant is unique among Bakersfield restaurants. I would call it Latino fusion maybe. The sauces of some of their familiar Mexican dishes (i.e. camarones diabla) are unique and delicious which puts them a cut above other restaurants.

Went to dinner on Friday at 6pm it was relatively empty, I liked the decor and it was really dark in there. Four people came out to 230 dollars not including tip. I got the chicharrones which were pieces of meat. They were really good. For the entre I got the aguachiles and they were so bland they needed more lime and salt. The pico de gallo had no flavor. The other entree were decent. This place in my honest opinion is not worth the price. Customer service was not the best. We had an older gentleman short hair and he wasn’t the best server. If anything the long haired guy who first came to our tables had better customer service. There wasn’t really anything special about this place other than the dim lighting and the decor.
I wouldn’t return and worst is the over priced mediocre food. They need more flavor in certain dishes.

We had a great bar tender. He was friendly and had great hospitality. Made a great margarita. We tried the potato tacos. Not the best but they have a huge menu with a lot of vegetarian options I would for sure try something else. The vibes are cool, it’s very dark inside, happy hour is 4-8. $5 margs, $3 beers and $7 apps.

We came here on Saturday, September 20th to celebrate my brother’s 15th birthday and, unfortunately, the evening was disappointing from start to finish.

Despite making a 7:30 pm reservation, the hostess and manager seemed unsure where to seat us. We waited while they pushed together three small tables hardly the smooth welcome you’d expect from a higher-end restaurant.

The food looked beautiful, but that’s where the positives ended. We ordered pasta as an appetizer (my brother’s choice), but it lacked flavor and was completely unremarkable. The drink my server recommended was underwhelming.

For my entrée, I ordered the octopus. Presentation was gorgeous, but the texture was off, slimy on top and unpleasantly tough. After a few small bites and eating only the pineapple garnish, I told the server it was inedible and sent it back. I lost my appetite and declined a replacement.

The rest of the table fared no better:
    • My brother’s steakordered medium-well—came out well-done and dry. The zucchini that came with it was uncooked. We paid an extra $8 for a side, and honestly, Texas Roadhouse serves a better steak.
    • The mashed potatoes tasted sour and off.
    • My sister’s chicken flautas were bland, and the green salsa on top was oddly sweet—unusual for traditional Mexican cuisine.
    • My mom’s “shrimp al mojo” turned out to be more like shrimp scampi, and the shrimp were overcooked.
    • Only rice and beans were available as sides because the others had “run out.”
    • Even my daughter’s pizza was just ordinary; she barely ate a slice.

Service was equally underwhelming. Our server was polite but inattentive, and the manager refused to fully comp my entrée, claiming I’d eaten half (I hadn’t only a few bites and the pineapple). To top it off, a $30 gratuity was automatically added for a party of five. In my experience, that’s typically reserved for larger groups or true fine dining this was neither.

What was meant to be a special 15th birthday dinner turned into an evening of frustration and disappointment. For the price and reputation, we expected far better food, service, and overall experience. We left upset and will not be returning.
