My wife and I were recently driving from Vancouver Canada to Palm Springs and were looking for a place to stay in Lake County. I happened to come across the Bed and Barrel at Stonehouse Cellars and decided to try it out. The fact that it was part of a winery was incidental but since it was there I asked to do a tasting the afternoon of our arrival.
To be honest, I was not expecting much, as I had no idea there was much of a wine industry in the area. How wrong I was. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful tasting led by Heather who was a delight. I ended up buying at least 18 bottles of really interesting wines, including the Grenache Rose.
The accommodation was also wonderful, so well appointed and comfortable. We very much enjoyed our visit and have been telling everyone we know to check it out if they are in the area. We certainly plan to stop in again next February on our way back down to the desert.
I had the most amazing weekend stay at Bed & Barrel! We were there to celebrate a birthday and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The accommodation was cozy, scenic, and full of thoughtful touches. We grilled BBQ, played volleyball in the pool, enjoyed board games in the winery room, and even played some frisbee outside. So much fun!
A special thank you to Daniel, who gave us a wine tasting and a tour of the barrel room. He was super knowledgeable and passionate. It was such a memorable experience.
Everything about our stay, the wine, the property, the warm hospitality, was top-notch. Highly recommend!
Our recent weekend getaway was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to the exceptional staff who went above and beyond to create an unforgettable experience. The secluded and serene property truly felt like our own private vineyard retreat; a haven of tranquility where we could completely disconnect and reconnect with each other. We spent a delightful afternoon enjoying a picturesque picnic lunch amidst the stunning vineyard landscape, followed by an exquisite private dinner that perfectly complemented the ambiance. And of course, let’s not forget the exceptional selection of wines that added a touch of celebratory sparkle to our romantic escape. The house itself exceeded all expectations; its modern design and impeccable cleanliness contributed significantly to the overall luxurious feel. We left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and deeply grateful for the memories created. We wholeheartedly recommend this exceptional retreat to anyone seeking a romantic and luxurious escape.
My husband and I just returned from a two night stay at Bed & Barrel and it was really incredible. We are new to the California wine scene, so we love visiting all of the unique properties and sampling their delicious wines. Brittany was an incredible host and her breakfast creations were amazing. She really went out of her way to make our stay memorable and to ensure we felt welcome. Robert stayed late to finish up a wine tasting for us. His expertise was evident during the tasting and we appreciate the great experience he gave us. Overall, it was really fun staying at Bed & Barrel and we’ll definitely come back (and probably bring friends with us).
We stayed at this lovely bed/breakfast and winery with another couple in early April, soon after the last of a long, rainy season. The green, rolling hills and vineyards were beautiful and alive with new growth and wildlife. The main interior common space was unique and stunning, and where we could relax most of the day. The rooms were also very comfortable and spacious. We genuinely enjoyed the hosted wine tasting and purchased several bottles of their fine wine. The breakfasts and dinner were outstanding. Brittany is a superb chef and a welcoming host. All staff on the grounds were very nice, gregarious, and helpful. We recommend this relaxing and beautiful place.
