This Inn lives up to its name. My wife & I found joy and happiness staying here. The three staff team members we dealt with, Dori, Connie and Maria Adriana are very guest-centric and made us feel very comfortable. The breakfasts are fabulous, and the location perfect – close enough to the center but far enough to be nice and quiet.
Our room, West, in the Roku house is a bit dated but that is expected with such an old historic structure, and in many ways adds to the charm. The property is full of flowers, sculptures and benches. It is so pleasant to just walk around with a cup of coffee or glass of wine. The views from the back of the house are spectacular.
The owner/innkeeper, Eric, who’s been there for 28 years, really knows what he’s doing. He’ll make your stay special, especially with his vast knowledge of the area. I hope to return someday.
I had an amazing experience at Alegria Inn. Very friendly staff, great room with a comfortable bed and amenities, and well appointed with ocean views. Highly recommend!
Incredible little bed and breakfast in a great location (one block from the edge of the shopping area). Our cabin (Cove Cottage) was wonderful, our own little private cabin with ocean views, great little wood stove adding to the ambience, a short path to the beach, an few steps to the living ding areas of the main building. Breakfast served either to your room or in the dining room. Expected a basic continental breakfast, wonderfully surprised by delicious mini frittatas and delicious blueberry coffee cake, along with fresh juice and coffee, all decorated with flowers from the garden. Really can’t say enough, the owner Eric is a friendly and helpful human, clearly cares deeply for his establishment and the comfort of his guests. We didn’t want to leave – can’t imagine staying anywhere else on our next visit
We had a birthday vacation at the Alegria Inn and Cottages, and stayed in the Cove Cottage, right above the beach. We have been coming to various places in and near Mendocino for almost 50 years, but this was our first time here. it’s our new favorite place.
It really makes a difference not to have to drive from our previous favorites in the Elk, Little River, and Albion River areas. It is as quiet and peaceful as any other place, along the coast, plus we were able to walk down to the beach, all over town, and around the headlands.
A delightful and romanic Japanese-themed cozy cottage, rustic and worn like everything in Mendocino. And the breakfasts were superb, lovingly crafted and delicious.
What a wonderful stay! They offer fresh baked cookies at check-in, fresh muffins and delicious hot cocoa or coffee in the mornings, and well-functioning amenities in the rooms. A very lovely and cozy lobby and dining room overlooks the ocean. And everyone was so kind and easy to work with.
Compared to all the other places friends stayed when we took over Mendocino for a large wedding weekend, Alegria was among the very best!
