Dr Nguyen did a phenomenal job with my mom’s dentures. She couldn’t eat or talk very well because of the pain. Thank you and Sylvia for your patience and the job you both did on fixing both dentures!!! Thank you for showing us how to use the paste for the dentures as well!!!
Thank you!!!
This was, without question, one of the most frustrating healthcare experiences I’ve had.
My grandmother and I had a 3:30 PM appointment at this location, and we arrived early at 3:15 PM. We then sat in the waiting room for over an hour with absolutely no communication or updates.
At around 4:30 PM, I finally walked up to the front desk to ask when we would be seen. There were two staff members sitting down. One was on the office phone, and the other appeared to be on a personal cell phone. I politely asked when we would be seen and was completely ignored. I had to ask a second time, louder and more assertively, before either of them acknowledged me. Only then was I told it would be “five more minutes.”
To make matters worse, I watched another patient without an appointment get taken back while we continued waiting despite having a scheduled appointment and arriving early.
Eventually, Victor took my grandmother’s X-rays and was kind and professional. He explained there were no available rooms but managed to clean one for us. Even after the X-rays, we continued waiting. The dentist didn’t come in until approximately 5:15 PM, nearly two hours after we arrived.
The dentist himself was courteous and professional, and I have no complaints about his care. Unfortunately, by that point, the experience had already been overshadowed by the front office and support staff.
While waiting in the treatment room, I sat on a stool that was available. A staff member told me I couldn’t sit there, which was completely fine, so I moved immediately. However, instead of simply moving the stool, she repeatedly pushed it into me while repositioning it and then told me I needed to move again. It was unnecessary, rude, and unprofessional.
I understand that medical and dental offices can run behind schedule. What I don’t understand is ignoring patients, failing to communicate delays, and treating people as though their time doesn’t matter.
If your office is running significantly behind, simply communicate with your patients. Respect and basic courtesy go a long way. Sadly, that was missing during our visit.
I had an extremely disappointing experience at this dental office. Unfortunately, it’s one of the few providers that accepts my insurance, so I scheduled an appointment after waiting three months.
I arrived with my 2-year-old daughter in her stroller because I don’t have childcare. I had brought her to a previous appointment without any issues, so I assumed it would be fine. After waiting over 40 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, I was finally called back.
Instead of receiving care, the dental assistant immediately questioned why I had my daughter with me. She asked if I could leave my child in the waiting room with strangers or if I had someone who could watch her. The way she spoke to me came across as rude, dismissive, and lacking any compassion.
If bringing a child wasn’t allowed, that should have been communicated when I made the appointment or at any point during the 40 minutes I sat in the waiting room. Instead, I was made to feel embarrassed and judged for simply being a mother without childcare.
I decided to cancel my appointment and requested my records. I left the office in tears. No patient should be treated this way, especially a parent doing their best to make it to a healthcare appointment.
I understand that offices have policies, but there is a respectful and compassionate way to communicate them. Sadly, that was not my experience here. Based on how I was treated, I would not recommend this office.
This was my third time for a cleaning at the Farmers Lane location. The first two times were not so good. I saw Dr. Jay today and what a huge difference. Him and the hygienist were incredibly helpful and supportive to my needs. Big thanks to them for making this appointment much better. I also got lucky and was seen at the actual time of my appointment.Thank you.
My experience at western dental has been amazing! The receptionist Angelina was very helpful and caring. She listened to all of my concerns and helped me make the appointments I needed. She is a wonderful representation of what a dental receptionist should be like. Thank you so much for your help Angelina. You are wonderful and caring. God bless you!! Thank you western dental for hiring Individuals like her!
