PLEASE AVOID this restaurant specifically this Newark location. Had a pick up order and finding woman’s HAIR in their food and this is not the first time it’s happening here at this location. Cashier casually says he’ll issue the refund but haven’t received anything even after 2 days. Ulavacharu Sunnyvale location is great, but Newark locations sucks. Poor management and staff.

My friends had been raving about this place, so I decided to give it a try. The ambiance was decent, but the service was a bit chaotic.

We started with appetizers: chicken 65, chilli chicken, and paneer sizzler. The chicken 65 was average, and the chilli chicken was clean and tasty. The paneer sizzler, however, was a letdown. It had very little salt and was bland.

For mains, we ordered a variety of dishes. The dosas were amazing. The keema dosa was moorish, mouthwatering, and flavorful. The chicken gravy and goat curry were outstanding. The gravy was cooked perfectly, and the meat was juicy and tender. The masala dosa was crispy and spicy, with podi and onions.

The madras paratta with chicken and goat curry was also delicious. The madras paratta with Channa masala was okay, and the bay paneer with garlic naan was a nice addition.

Overall, I had a good time at this place. The food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. The quantity was also good, so it was a great value for money.

It’s great to see Ulavacharu opening in Newark. We like their food at Sunnyvale location. Their punugulu is very good. Gobi Manchurian can be better. Guntur paneer biryani and Jackfruit biryani is amazing, they have good flavor and definitely worth it.

    Excellent Food & Family Friendly!
I recently had a wonderful meal here and highly recommend it. The Punugulu were perfectly crispy, and the Chicken Chettinad with Tandoori Roti was delicious. The Vijayawada Chicken Biryani had fantastic flavor, though a few more pieces of chicken would make it even better! Loved the free delicious tea.

The service was good, and we were seated immediately, though it got busy by the time we left on Sunday. As a frequent diner, a small suggestion for management: having staff wear matching shirts or aprons with the restaurant name would add a very professional, polished touch.

A special shout-out to the family next to us—the staff provided a high chair for their baby, and the parents used a disposable paper mat underneath it. It allowed the baby to eat freely without making a mess for the staff. I wish I’d known that trick 25 years ago! It’s a brilliant tip for a stress-free, courteous dining experience.

Overall, a great spot with delicious food. I’ll definitely be back!

We recently visited Ulavacharu new Telugu Indian restaurant in Newark and had a great experience. The food was very tasty and authentic, especially if you enjoy Telugu-style flavors. Everything we tried was fresh and well prepared.

The owner was very cordial and personally came around to check on customers and make sure everything was good, which made the experience even better. It’s always nice to see that level of care and hospitality
