Sensational food… I only get back to the area every couple years, however I think of it often. Owners are passionate and you can tell they love the community they live in – it comes out in the quality of their dishes. There is one particular soup, I don’t recall the name, but dang it’s good! Never in my life did I believe I’d ever think of a soup so much!

I recently stopped by The Workshop after not visiting for well over a year since I was last in the area, and I’m happy to say everything was just as great as I remembered. I placed an order for my boyfriend and me—an oyster po’boy and a brisket po’boy—and both were absolutely delicious.
The customer service was still just as wonderful as before, and the food did not disappoint. It’s always nice to return to a place after some time and see that they’re still consistent with both quality and service.
If you’re ever in Benicia and enjoy authentic Louisiana-style Cajun or Creole food, you definitely have to stop by The Workshop. Highly recommended!

Soooo scrumptious and delicious! I ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo which had perfectly balanced flavors. The okra combined with the generous protein portions and the warm soup melted in my mouth. Service was very quick. Lots of outdoor seating and street parking. Music is very reminiscent of Southern blues/jazz! You feel like you are transported to NOLA. Definitely a soul food staple of the North Bay.
