My employer recently hosted a network reception at The Terrace Room in Oakland, which was absolutely exceptional. From start to finish, the experience was seamless, elegant, and incredibly well supported by an outstanding team.

A huge thank you to Byron, our Banquet Captain, whose professionalism and attention to detail ensured everything ran flawlessly throughout the evening. Candi and Bryon were also wonderful partners in the planning process—responsive, thoughtful, and truly committed to making the event special.

Special shoutout to Kyle, our bartender, who kept the drinks flowing with efficiency and great energy, and to Jose, our server, who provided attentive and gracious service to our guests all night long. Their hospitality made everyone feel welcomed and taken care of.

The Terrace Room itself provided the perfect setting—beautiful views, a sophisticated atmosphere, and a team that clearly takes pride in delivering excellent events.

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at The Terrace Room and was so impressed by this venue. The Art Deco architecture and panoramic lake views create such a stunning backdrop for both ceremonies and receptions, truly timeless and elegant. From a photography standpoint, the natural light pouring in through the large windows is a dream, and the space transitions beautifully from day to evening.

The staff was professional, organized, and incredibly kind, making everything run smoothly for the couple and their guests. It’s clear they care deeply about creating a memorable experience. If you’re looking for a romantic, unique venue with both beauty and heart, The Terrace Room is a fantastic choice.

We had our wedding at the Terrace Room in March and absolutely loved it. Candi and Byron were great to work with from the start and the whole team on the day of the wedding was friendly and professional. We liked the way the Terrace Room functions like a restaurant, meaning they handle the food and beverage and provide the tables, linens, etc. It was great not to worry about finding an outside caterer, hiring bartenders or dealing with rentals. Candi and Byron had lots of suggestions for how to make everything go smoothly and they coordinated well with our other vendors. The food was delicious and our guests enjoyed the bar.

The space is so beautiful it hardly needs any decoration, which was great for us because we did our own flowers and decorations. The view over Lake Merritt is beautiful and we even had a double rainbow appear during our ceremony! Not sure the Terrace Room staff can be expected to make perfectly-timed rainbows happen again, but I recommend this venue anyway!
