Excellent food and service. Joannie took great care of us at the bar. She was very friendly and had great recommendations on food and drinks. I had the Veal Shnitzel which was one of the best veal dishes I’ve ever had. We will certainly be back. Highly recommend if you’re in the area. It’s worth the drive!
I was honored to eat at the Iron Door this evening and as a chef/owner of a similar restaurant in CO was blown away. We started with the French Martinis which were well balanced and delicious. The clam Chowder was mind blowing good and some of the best I have ever had. Creamy, smoky, salty deliciousness. The Beet Salad was equally amazing with the earthy beats, salty pork, sweet/acidic apples and peppery Arugula with just enough dressing. I would come back just for the soup and salad alone.
Entrees we had the Shrimp Scampi with a delicious garlicy sauce and the Pork Osso Bucco with a mushroom risotto…chefs kiss. I am a big saucier and the sauces here were absolutely amazing. We ended with a locally made Chocolate Tuxedo Cake delicious and not sickly sweet.
Service was the perfect balance of attentiveness without being pretentious. I loved the warm interior and beautiful bar. I don’t often have memorable meals but I will remember this one and can’t wait to come back. Bravo!!
Arguably, the best steakhouse I’ve eaten at! The cajun prawns and pepper steak are to die for! The cucumber dill ranch salad dressing is amazing! Staff and atmosphere are awesome! A little spendy but absolutely worth it!! Although I haven’t personally tried them, because I’m sold on getting the pepper steak every time, my family also loves the jaeger schnitzel and chicken marsala!
An absolute joy to dine here. Love the history, love the people, and especially love the food. If you’re into history and spooky ghost stories, this is the perfect place to visit!
We dined there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. A nice bottle of wine, amazing crabcakes as an appetizer. We both had Prime Rib. The dessert was great as well.
