While the location of this cute bed and breakfast was good, the comfort of the beds were not. Took a short getaway wanting to relax in napa and have a good night’s rest but man the pillows and mattress left something to be desired. Dont understand the point of using those huge pillows that you can’t rest your head on comfortably. Was a huge let down. Got a total of 3 hours of sleep before the marathon the next day. Secondly, depending on how many guests they have, apparently you cant choose where you sit for breakfast. There were 5 free tables and we finally got to choose the one by the window our last day because no one was in the dining room eating and were told to move to the center large communal table by ourselves only to be joined by another couple 20 minutes later. Im all for sitting with people, but when I’m paying $400 a night and you literally have no one else eating and a plethora of available tables, one would expect to be accommodated. Left a bad taste in our mouth. We could’ve literally moved 2 place settings 4 feet over if it were difficult for you to do. Place must be under new management because the other reviews much earlier on were good which is why we chose this place. Honestly, napa inn and spa was way better when we came last year. Better breakfast and 1000 percent better sleep. I was just trying something new. Lesson learned. Needless to say, if you’re looking to not get any rest, this is the place for you.
I was lucky enough to spend a night here recently for a work conference. Janet met our team with a warm greeting, fresh cookies, coffee, and fresh juice. She personalized our stay.
The breakfast, made by chef Amber,, was divine! The omelette was perfectly cooked with not one overpowering flavor. The fruit was perfectly ripened.
The Inn on First, was a great stay for my wife and I. The location was perfect, just a few minutes walk to downtown Napa. The staff were the best, the mood and hospitality was the best stays we have ever had. Private parking on site and the breakfast was made to order with fresh fruit, eggs, muffins, bacon and breakfast sandwiches. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, with A/C and ceiling fan. Thank you Inn of First.
Room was lovely, clean & comfortable. Staff wonderfully polite.
The homemade cookies & triple berry muffins are just amazing.
Coffee was lovely. Breakfast was great.
We were getting married & came into room with a personal touch! (None alcoholic as I don’t drink) again, personal touches that made our stay all the more memorable.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Inn on First in Napa Valley! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations.
The rooms were incredibly spacious, beautifully maintained, and clean. Housekeeping did a fantastic job each day — everything felt fresh, organized, and welcoming when we returned from wine tasting.
The true highlight of our stay was the hospitality. The innkeepers, Randy and Celia, are warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. They make you feel like family from the start. Sarah was also incredibly helpful and patient when I couldn’t figure out our room lock — she stepped in right away and made everything easy.
And the breakfast… simply outstanding. The gourmet breakfasts each morning were next-level delicious. I consider myself somewhat of an avocado toast connoisseur, and this was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Their French toast was also out of this world — perfectly prepared and absolutely indulgent.
All in all, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Inn on First to anyone visiting Napa! We hoped to be able to return in the future.
