Good experience and excellent value for money. First time using zero-contact check-in but it worked well, was easy and straightforward. Service was excellent across the board. Very affordable, nice rooms, comfortable in most ways.

Too far from the heart of town to walk, especially after sundown.

We rolled into Mt. Shasta at the tail end of a long driving day, and Summit View Inn turned out to be exactly the kind of place you hope for on a road trip.

I’ll admit the mix-up was mine — I’d booked the wrong dates and only realized it late in the game. The host sorted it out without a fuss, no lecture, no scramble, no extra fees. Completely hassle-free. If you’ve ever had that sinking feeling looking at a confirmation email, you know how much that kind of grace is worth.

The room itself was bigger than expected and clean, but the little courtyard with the tables and fire pit ended up being our favorite part of the stay. We sat out there in the evening with the mountain right there in front of us and didn’t feel any urge to be anywhere else.

It’s a small, independently run spot, and that comes through in the best way. Easy check-in, quiet night, quick trip into town for food. For the price, it’s an easy recommendation to anyone passing through on their way up or down I-5.

Thank you for the kindness on the dates, and for a restful stop. We’d stay again.

The mattress is a huge futon mattress, which I liked, but was a surprise. No carpeting, so cold floors in the morning. No coffee maker, but condiments for coffee. One bar stool at the long counter, but a nice fridge/freezer. The bathroom and fresher seemed recently updated/renovated, and the entire place seemed family-friendly and good for small groups of travelers. The service was “touchless” but still responsive, although the room was not cleaned very thoroughly (carrots left in the fridge from the last occupants). Overall, the experience was good, plenty of coffee shops in Shasta, and room coffee is rarely even decent, so no great loss there.

Very cute budget friendly place to stay. We really enjoyed it there. It is an older building, but they have done a great job cleaning it up and updating it. The communal kitchen has all the things you would need to make a meal and is kept very clean. It’s close to Shasta and good restaurants (5min drive) and the Upper and Middle water falls. We would definitely come again.

We booked this hotel for the first time because the price was reasonable, and it turned out to be an amazing room! It’s spacious, stylish, and comes with both a shower and a bathtub. There are also two large mirrors, and it’s dog-friendly. We didn’t bring bicycles, but there’s even a rack to hang them inside the room.

The property has plenty of outdoor tables, making it a great spot to eat or just hang out. While the amenities aren’t what you’d find at a luxury hotel, they provide a great all-in-one soap that’s safe for kids and covers you from head to toe (or you can just bring your own).

Check-in is fully online, and you just enter the room using a passcode. It’s about a 5 to 6-minute drive from the city center, and there seem to be a few restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommended!
