A rare mix of extraordinary food, attentive service, and the perfect location. As a Vegetarian, it was very meaningful to find
Stanford Inn’s Ravens Restaurant after a day of exploring Mendocino. I ordered the Caesar salad and fries. Both were exceptional, as were the non-alcoholic cider my table ordered. The vegan sundae, though it might sound unusual, was as good as any ice cream sundae I’ve ever had. Surprisingly dog-friendly for such a pristine restaurant, and excellent service. The space is magical, clean, and brimming with life.

If your dream morning involves organic, home-grown forage, obsessing over your macros, and preparing for an ultra-marathon, congratulations: you’ve found Valhalla.
If you’re expecting bacon, steak, or anything cooked in actual butter, turn around. You do not belong here. You will be offered buckwheat pancakes, a portobello mushroom disguised as Eggs Benedict, and scrambled tofu—and you will be expected to act grateful.
When asked if I wanted soy, almond, or oat milk, I made the rookie mistake of asking for regular milk. I’m pretty sure the side-eye I received personally lowered my credit score.
TL;DR:
For the plant-based community: 5 stars.
For people who like bacon: 1 star. Consider this a formal public service announcement.

We stayed at the Stanford Inn and Resort for a couple days and so we had breakfast and dinner here a few times. The dinner experience was exemplary – especially because of the excellent service we received from Jared who was attentive to detail and so kind to us, making us feel really special on our anniversary! Jared really upgraded the experience from a 4.5 to a 5 star experience. The dinner options were delightful, tasty, and had a lot of pizzazz. The breakfast options are impressive for a plant-based menu and we enjoyed trying different things, although the flavors could have been better, the presentations were good too! Overall we were really grateful for such delicious plant-based options on our vacation to Mendocino.

Regular here. Can’t get enough. Even if I think hard enough, I cannot come up with a single thing that could be improved.
Stunning food – variety, taste, quality, proces! Absolutely amazing and warm staff members – my favorite part maybe…Lovely ambience especially during festive season. They grow a lot of their food. Pets are welcome and served with as much enthusiasm. Last time, they even brought out a dog bed for a friend’s old dog…my heart.
Even celebrated my birthday here, two nights in a row.
Although food is enjoyed by everyone, plant-based or not, personally, as a vegan, I am glad because they are the only 100 percent plant-based place on the Mendocino coast. Grateful for that.

We had the Portobello Benedict and the savory crepe both flavorful and made with fresh, well-prepared ingredients. The wood-paneled space, with its scent of wood, fireplaces, and garden views, feels classic but not dated, cozy but not cluttered. A quiet main room and a relaxed pet-friendly section round out the experience. We’ll definitely come back.
