If I’m craving Filipino food and ingredients, Seafood City Supermarket is my go-to spot. It’s one of the few places where I can consistently find the Filipino groceries and ingredients that regular Western grocery stores just don’t carry. From everything needed to make sinigang to ingredients for turon, they have it covered. I especially like the ready-made vegetable packs for dishes like sinigang and pinakbet because it makes cooking so much easier and reminds me of home-style meals in the Philippines.
I also always stop by the food stall, The Grill City, for cooked Filipino food. The pork BBQ, adobo, and rice combo instantly bring me back to the carinderias in Manila. There’s something comforting and familiar about the flavors that feels authentic and nostalgic.
Before leaving, I make one last stop at Valerio’s Tropical Bakeshop for pan de sal, suman, and ensaymada. It’s the perfect way to end the trip and get that little Philippines fix that brings me back to my recent trip there.
For Filipino-Americans missing the flavors of home, Seafood City Vallejo is more than just a grocery store. It’s an experience that reconnects you with Filipino food, culture, and memories.

The most concerning issue was seeing live crab being served dead, which raises serious health and food safety concerns. That alone made me uncomfortable about the overall handling and freshness standards at the market.
On top of that, the staff inside were extremely rude and dismissive when concerns were brought up. Instead of listening or addressing the issue professionally, they acted like customer concerns did not matter at all. Good customer service and proper food handling should be basic expectations, and unfortunately this place failed on both.
I would not recommend this market based on my experience.

Good Filipino-Asian specialty supermarket. But be extra aware and careful of your surroundings. Park your car near and in lighted areas.

I’ve been coming here for many years. I’m disappointed that better care isn’t put in with the public restroom. Long story short, I walked into the handicap stall with my cane, and I lost balance unaware that the tiling directly in front of the toilet was badly cracked. Part of it lifted, which is what cause me to lose balance. To have a damaged floor in the handicap stall is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Please don’t just put a cone over it as that will block the toilet. Do not simply close the stall with an Out of Order sign. Do a temporary fix until you can make a permanent fix, and post a caution sign in the interim. Because you serve food, you are obligated to provide a restroom to the disabled.
Follow up from 6/14 – purchased Puto which had a label saying Sell By 6/18. By this morning (6/15) there was mold on half the package. Foods made with milk and egg should be refrigerated, not kept at the front table.

I absolutely love this place for its incredible variety of fresh fish, vegetables, and fruits! The convenience of having small shops right at the store entrance where you can buy delicious fried fish, meat, boba teas, and fruit juice is a fantastic addition. The overall experience is simply delightful!
