⭐ 1/5 – Terrible Experience! Serious Hygiene Concerns!

I stayed at Rodeway Inn in San Francisco on October 2–3, 2026. During my stay, I discovered what appeared to be bed bugs in the room. I recorded video evidence and immediately reported the issue to the front desk, showing the staff the video.

After my stay, I experienced itching and physical discomfort. I filed complaints with Choice Hotels, but neither the hotel nor Choice Hotels has provided any meaningful response, explanation, or compensation.

This is absolutely unacceptable! Guest health and safety should be a top priority, yet my serious concerns have been completely ignored.

I am extremely disappointed with the hotel’s hygiene standards and Choice Hotels’ lack of accountability.

If this matter remains unresolved, I will consider reporting it to the San Francisco Department of Public Health and pursuing legal action.

I strongly advise travelers to think twice before booking this hotel!

this experience has a bunch of minor inconveniences that add up over time. Such as:
– key cards disabled when kept in the same pocket as phone
– the housekeeping lady works very late sometimes, came back from work without anything touched and 3 hours later, she appears
– wifi is inconsistent
– LOUD NOISES. ESPECIALLY THE SOUND OF FOOTSTEPS RIGHT AT MY DOOR
– sink is leaking when being used
– an XL size HAIRBALL fell out of a towel just as I was using it. It was CURLY
– the fridge FREEZES your grub
– if you try to lower the temp, dont leave it unattended for at least 4 hours or the thawed ice will flood the fridge thanks to the vent on the ice pan.

I have stayed here many of times before and have had a great experience. But this time the room was trouble. For example paint was peeling off the bathroom walls, bedding looked questionable, Tv not working and Tv remote had lots of dust on it.
