Mirabel has always been a wonderful resort and a place my family has enjoyed for many years. That is why this experience was so disappointing.
Our interactions with the camp host, Laura, were the worst customer service experiences we have ever had. Rather than resolving minor issues professionally, she repeatedly escalated them with hostility and unnecessary confrontation. Her communication was rude, demeaning, and far below the standard guests should expect.
On multiple occasions, she approached our campsite yelling, including in front of our children, creating an uncomfortable and stressful environment. Instead of helping guests feel welcome, her behavior appeared focused on intimidation and asserting authority over minor matters.
What is especially concerning is that many of the one-star reviews on Yelp appear to center on her customer service and similar negative interactions with guests. These types of interactions have also occurred nearly every year for the past 10 years or more, suggesting a long-standing and consistent pattern rather than an isolated issue.
Mirabel itself remains a beautiful and special place, which makes this even more unfortunate. No guest should be treated this way. Management should take these repeated concerns seriously, because one person’s conduct should not overshadow an otherwise great destination.
Cool camp spot. Literally in the woods, lots of shade.
Flushing toilets, showers, electric outlets, picnic bench and firepits at most every site.
Close to water, small creek runs through on the group side, throughout half the campgrounds to the join the Russian River. Water is relatively calm. Fishable from the banks. Canoe rentals available next door, within 200 yards.
Location is just off River Road, close to Forestville for local small town shopping. (Safeway in Guerneville, 10 minute drive)
30 minutes from the ocean.
Staff are friendly, firm but fair. Attentive to the grounds, they make rounds.
First part of this land is permeant residence (trail park) but the camping area is near by , each section is very spacious not crowded. Direct access to the Russian river , water is murky but after 10 min of floating the water current picks up & you end up at Steelhead Beach after 26 min of loafing. You can easily walk back to camp in 12 min. Staff was helpful and accommodating. Showers had good pressure and hot water, toilets were clean.
We were lucky to have found the Russian River Campground. What a blessing. The best team, clean showers, great trails, the space is nice. The location is near the shopping center in Windsor, champagne cellars, Armstrong Grove Redwood trees, and of course, the gorgeous Russian River. We are so thankful to have stayed there. The beach is thirty minutes away in Jenner, California.
These pictures were from the 4th of July. The staff is very sweet and friendly and the campsites in the club area are very nice. With the campsites up top you have a trail down to the river where you can swim and enjoy the water. When we went the water was low in parts so we were able to walk upstream and float on our tubes back to the camping area. Over all I recommend coming here if you are looking for a spot to camp!

Can I give zero stars?
