Best food! Period! The kind of meal you eat and then check real estate options in the area so that you can have it more often!!! We had the Thai Burrito and the Vietnamese Salad with tofu(which was essentially a tofu banh mi salad). My favorite was the Vietnamese salad! On top of that, the garden patio seating was magical, with flowers and hummingbirds.

Very overpriced place just for tourists. Paid $46 for a clam pasta with barely any pasta in. Portion is very small my husband and I went to eat somewhere else after spending nearly $100 for our dinner.

It was very cold in the outdoor dining area and they didn’t even offer us to turn on the portable heater when the table next to us had it open.

Tucked away in a charming spot, Mendocino Cafe offers a dining experience that feels both cozy and elevated. It’s the kind of place where you want to settle in, enjoy the surroundings, and anticipate a meal prepared with genuine care. From the moment you arrive, there is a distinct sense of quality and attention to detail that sets the stage for a truly memorable visit.
I started my meal with their warm spinach salad with chicken, and it was an absolute delight. It is rare to find a salad that feels this substantial, but this dish was incredibly rich with veggies, making every bite feel fresh, healthy, and deeply satisfying. The chicken was cooked to perfection, complementing the warmth of the greens in a way that made for a wonderful, balanced start to the meal.
The real highlight, however, was the clam chowder. It is easy to see why it has earned its reputation; this was truly award-winning quality. It offered a flavor profile that was very unique compared to standard chowders, providing a depth of taste that is genuinely hard to find elsewhere. It was clearly prepared with a distinctive twist that makes it an absolute must-try for any seafood lover visiting the area.
While the food did take a little time to come out of the kitchen, the wait was absolutely worth it. When you prioritize culinary quality and flavor in every single dish, a slightly slower pace is a small trade-off for such a delicious result. If you are looking for a place where the effort shines through on the plate, I highly recommend stopping by Mendocino Cafe.

A lovely restaurant with both indoor and patio dining that offers a good selection of American and a few Thai-inspired dishes. I really liked their clam chowder, which is one of their specialties. They also had delicious sandwiches with filling portions.

The staff are friendly, attentive, and bring out the food rapidly!
