Surprise anniversary dinner at Madera, a pretty and open space with stunning views of the pool and mountains, especially from the outdoor seating. The sunsets were breathtaking. We were really hoping to love this place, but unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the setting.
The uni chicharrón dish was a disappointment. The chicharron was stale and poorly plated. The beet salad was just okay. The fish dinner was so sweet, it was like eating dessert. I regret not sending it back. The fava bean toast was not a toast; it was a crostini. The prices felt steep for what we got and what it was supposed to be. The service was also lacking. However, the ribeye steak was excellent, and our server redeemed himself with a delicate hazelnut chocolate dessert that was amazing.
Overall, Madera is a pretty place, but it’s too overhyped and overpriced. I’d only return for the steak and dessert.

My husband, my 3-year-old daughter, and I visited, and we absolutely loved it. We booked for 7 PM, so we had just enough time to enjoy the views before sunset and stay warm on the open veranda. The service was excellent, the food was superb in taste and quality, and the interior and location were gorgeous! We’re so glad we visited this place for our anniversary. I highly recommend it.

Recently celebrated an anniversary here. The food, service and the seating were excellent! We had to cancel our reservation once before and they were very gracious. This time, we called the morning of and they were able to accommodate a party of two easily. It was a cool spring day and we decided to sit outside ..to be honest they could have better tables and seating outside. Apart from that, as soon as we sat down, they brought us a blanket and the heat lamps did a fantastic job of keeping us comfortable as the temperature went down. Our server Kevin was excellent. Sean, this familiar visited us and it was a great conversation. However, we decided to go with cocktails this evening.. We ordered a bunch of vegetarian starters and salads, and the halibut which was again perfectly cooked and the sauce was just delicious. The basil strawberry cake was interesting but the best part of the evening was the mini cocktails. We ended up ordering four of those and a mocktail. Definitely worth a visit!

The lounge had a really great vibe—stylish, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed night out. The service also stood out in a positive way; our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the evening.
Unfortunately, the drinks were a major letdown. One of the cocktails I ordered was their “tribute” version of a martini, but the presentation was disappointing and didn’t match the description at all. It listed olives as part of the ingredients, yet none were included—just a drop of olive oil, which felt more like an afterthought than a deliberate choice. It lacked both authenticity and attention to detail.
The second drink, “Charlie must Be dreaming” was equally underwhelming. It was overly sweet, one-dimensional, and lacked any real depth or complexity. There was nothing memorable about it, and it didn’t showcase any creativity or skill in mixing.
I barely leave bad reviews for cocktail bars and lounges. Most of my go-to spots serve well-crafted cocktails, so unfortunately this was my first disappointing experience at a hotel lobby that otherwise looked very promising.
Overall, while the atmosphere and service were strong, the drinks fell far short. It’s a great place to sit and enjoy the ambiance, but if you’re going for well-crafted cocktails, it may leave you disappointed.

We had a birthday lunch here and it was amazing. The location is beautiful, the decor is soothing and the service was impeccable. It was too cold to sit on the patio but we went outside after the meal to take sone pictures of the hillside.
The food was excellent across all three courses with the savory puffs being everyone’s favorite fish.
