I was really disappointed with my experience here. This place used to have friendly customer service, but that definitely wasn’t the case during my visit.
I was picking up a DoorDash order and stood at the counter for about 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging me. When I finally asked about the order, I was told, “It’ll come out whenever it’s ready,” in a very rude and dismissive way. The employee looked like he didn’t want to be there and made no effort to be helpful or professional.
While I was waiting, I also saw a little girl ask for her food because it had been made incorrectly. The employee simply said he knew it was wrong and that he was sorry, but he couldn’t fix it. There was no effort to make things right or show any concern.
The overall atmosphere made me feel very unwelcome. As a person of color, I already felt out of place, and the poor customer service only made the experience worse. Whether someone is picking up a DoorDash order or dining in, everyone deserves to be treated with basic respect. This was some of the worst customer service I’ve experienced in Red Bluff, and it honestly left me wanting to cry. I hope management takes these concerns seriously because this business has the potential to do much better.
Family-friendly place? The owner/employees stole my bicycle when it was locked to the fence outside the building, about 30 feet from the front door. No bike rack or reasonable alternative so I had no choice. They cut right through the lock with a hacksaw. One single, honest employee that worked there told me what happened after he got fired that day for trying to help me find it.
Edit: I’m not removing anything. The story is true, the employee (Casey) was real, and I am kindly asking you to turn yourselves in to the same Red Bluff Police Department you expect me to contact about your crime, for grand theft of my bicycle. Just because it happened prior to this year doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
We came to a birthday party there on Saturday, June 6th. The kids loved all the activities you have there. The area was set up great for us. Your staff was attentive and very helpful when needed.
The pizzas all came out hot and I must say they were as good or better than I have had at many pizza joints.
Thank you and your staff for a very enjoyable time.
Rude staff all around. Went in yesterday night with a couple of friends as a birthday gift to one of them at 9pm, which is when they start offering $2 a game, and we were treated super poorly. When we arrived the place was empty, we bought in for two games. One of us ordered a drink which took 15-20 minutes to actually be made and given to him, and a pizza which took almost an hour since they didn’t start it when we first ordered it. During that whole time the entire staff were glaring at us, were short with us and towards the end of our night, just straight up mean. The pins are on strings and when, right at the end of our second game, they got tangled and resetting was not working at all, we asked for help and then we heard the staff blame us for still having to work “because someone has to finish their game”. Like, yeah? That’s what we paid for? We just ended up leaving after that.
I get not wanting to work 20 minutes past close, I’ve been there too, it really sucks but treating others poorly ain’t gonna make it better. I also understand that they’re likely not in charge of the $2 deal. Having that an hour before you close and not expecting people to play a couple of games is wild and sets everyone up to have a bad time. Either way, the experience was sour all the way through.
So a lot has changed in the last 3 years here and for the better since I have been coming here now for the kid’s Junior Bowling League on Sunday’s at 4:00pm. Everything is finally upgraded, including the pin-setters, which are string now, but the waiting for pin resets with the old system are finally over! In the past, sometimes you could waste 10-20 minutes of bowling time per hour waiting for your ball to return or the pins to set correctly.
The pool tables are actually very nice here as well. However I am puzzled by all the house sticks being 1 foot short, but it makes it handy for small kids I suppose.
The older kid really likes the laser tag, and his brother and sister really loves the bounce house!
The ONLY thing I think they could dial in better, is the wait time for food and drink at the bar.
My last point of critique is how amazing and better organized the Junior League bowling is compared to 3 years ago. Jenny the director does a good job, and the staff have really stepped up how they support the Junior Leaguer’s and their families. If you really think about it, their experience will more than likely directly (as apposed to indirectly) affect the sports future, both locally and nationally depending how negative or positive their experiences are in these early years as they are introduced to the sport of bowling.
So I Well done to whomever owns this place now, I hope you get your return on all that you did here, and I pray it was not just for profit, but to provide a safe and joyful experience for kids, youth, adults and the elderly for generations to come in this small town of Red Bluff! Thank you.
