We recently stayed at Huttopia with our kids and had a good overall experience, but there are definitely some things to know before you book.

The biggest downside is the heat. During the day, the tents get extremely hot, making them almost impossible to stay in. We have a toddler who still naps, and he couldnko’t nap comfortably because of the temperature. Most families seemed to spend the day at the pool or in the main building, which has air conditioning and fans.

The drive in is very winding, and once you arrive, you’ll need to carry your belongings from the parking lot to your tent. Some tents are quite far away, so I highly recommend paying the extra $100 for a preferred site close to the parking lot, pool, and main building. They do provide wagon but since the whole place isn’t paved, it’s so difficult to pull the wagon. The property is also very hilly, with unpaved paths and dry plants. I even stepped on a thorn, so wear closed-toe shoes if you’re walking around.

There is no refrigerator in the tents. They provide a cooler, but it wasn’t enough to keep our food cold. We ended up buying two $6 bags of ice every day, and by Saturday they had even run out of ice because so many guests were buying it.

Even though we paid for the bedding and towel package, we only received four bath towels, so be sure to bring extra towels for the pool and pack paper towels as well.

I saw a review saying they only had cold shower but for us, we got hot shower every day. They noted that water enough for 5 quick showers. So we made sure to turn off water between soap. I also read bedding not clean. Ours were clean. No complaints.

The positives were the beautiful night sky filled with stars, the comfortable mattresses, and the chance to unplug since there are no TVs in the tents. It really feels like camping, but with more comfort. The food was reasonably priced and decent.

They also offered free family activities, including s’mores on Friday night, a tote bag decorating craft on Saturday morning, and a movie night for kids on Saturday evening, which our children enjoyed.

A few helpful tips: the pool is open from 9 AM to 8 PM, there’s a Grocery Outlet about 15 minutes away in Hidden Valley if you need supplies, and while the days are very hot, the nights get surprisingly cold, so pack an extra layer.

Overall, Huttopia offers a fun glamping experience, especially if you enjoy being outdoors and stargazing. However, I probably wouldn’t return because the daytime heat was simply too uncomfortable, especially with a toddler.

Note to Huttopia: It’s scorching hot and walking up and down the hill was very very annoying. Drained all my positive energy. IF the main road is paved, the whole glamping experience would be much more pleasing. And I bet so many other people would be willing to come back here.

This is how we found our bed upon checking in. It was clear the room haf noy just been cleaned, even though an employee said it was cleaned only hours ago. As she used her hand to wipe the mouse droppings from our beds to the floor. I was appalled that they expected us to stay in the same tent that was not sanitized but hand cleaned. The worker looked at me like I was crazy for asking for lysol spray or wipes for the room. I tried to be a trooper but after that I had them move us to another tent. That was just the beginning of several customer service issues. I understand being short staffed but we shouldn’t have hours between someone working at the front desk or office to assist us. We stayed because we were meeting 3 other families there but in any other situation we would have left hours after arriving. The pool was great. We had an elderly person with us but frequently there was no one in the office to help us get her around the sites. They should let people drive to their tent sites or be ready to transport older, injured, or those with physical limitations.

Our Huttopia Wine Country glamping stay was AMAZING! Wonderful in every way! The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. Food is delicious, tents are very comfortable, pool is fantastic! E-bike or hike to nearby Six Sigma ranch and winery for a tour and tasting. Enjoy the many activities and games or just enjoy the peaceful beauty. With so many unique and special experiences to choose from at Huttopia, this camp is for everyone.

Very well located, 6 sigma winery is nearby and has games and farm animals to intertain the kids while adults can do wine tasting.
Beautiful scenery, lots of activities to do on site and in the area.
It’s a French curated place and it’s one of the best glamping trip we did with young and active kids, yet felt relaxed and rested at the end of the weekend.

Be prepared to hike up steep unpaved hills to check-in and to your tent. They need to have golf carta available for you to use to get around. Nowhere on their site does it say anything about having to climb hills to your accomodations. Can’t imagine if you have a wheelchair. The ADA tent was across from us and had a ramp but there’s still very steep climb just to get to the tent. They offer you wagons to hall your stuff up to your tents but it’s very difficult to pull say your cooler and bags up in one trip up the steep unpaved gravel hill. I was out of breath and hurting just from the parking lot to the check in building. We stayed in a family tent with two children. Beds were comfy and provided privacy. The bathrooms are super tiny. Toilets are difficult to sit on as they are right up against the wall and sink. They offer lots of amenities so you don’t have to leave the site. Not offering linens at the basic rate is ridiculous. Having to pay for linens is just bizarre. Save yourself and bring a sleeping bag rather than pay for linens. Also they offer towels but no wash cloths. We also had only enough hot water for 1 shower between the four of us over a 3 nights stay. There ar a couple good things this place had to offer one being the pool although it was freezing. They had great activities for kids and games to borrow. Pizza was great. I wouldn’t touch the pastries. They sit for days. One of them had mold growing on it. The yoga was great but the room was super hot. Didn’t really sign up for hot yoga. Staff were not very attentive the check in and check out process took a while because no one was at the desk. I appreciate that the company is allowing their staff to experience other locations around the world but they should have more staff from the area. The culture takes some time to accommodate to I understand that but is not great for business. Staff came off as care free stern and unapproachable. Great place is up in aren’t planning on leaving your tent or spending all day near the lodge. It was difficult.to.really enjoy stay. Great concept but not well though the location wise. Will not be visiting again nor recommending to others.
