Cheaper than another hotel I was at and alot safer and alot nicer. The manager was supposed to call me I left the hotel at 1100 AM no one ever called me back and I never received my money hotel room I didn’t know that the shower was broken until 945 pm the day I checked in, Immediately went to the front desk and the Asian lady was rude to me I was in short shorts and black shirt with Nike slides on she ordered me to wait until she was done with another customer, I told her that the shower didn’t even work the nozzle was all the way broken she immediately called the maintenance guy I specifically told her I was going to go outside and smoke a cigarette,as I was walking away she was telling the other guy that talking disrespectful about me to another customer, I came back in in less than 3 minutes I asked her if I was wearing a 3 piece suit blue blazer and grey slacks and lots of jewelry on she said yes. I felt helpless and horrible by her disrespectful constantly since she waited on me when I originally checked in with me against other customers earlier that day. When the maintenance guy came he said quote on Quote that it was broken and that I need to move out of the room and go somewhere else I didn’t get a new room until 1100 pm that night and then there were no carts I was giving no help no courtesy no refund I couldn’t even get to talk to the manager about the problem because they never called me back nor even available when I asked them multiple times for the manager and I still have not received my deposit back yet
If you don’t need to stay near the airport or specifically want an IHG property, I would not recommend staying here. This is a Holiday Inn, but honestly, it feels worse than a typical Holiday Inn Express.
The front desk staff, Silvia, had a horrible attitude and made the experience even more unpleasant. The room was small, and the coffee provided in the room was the worst I’ve ever had at a hotel. I honestly can’t think of anything I liked about this property.
The stupidly oversized bed frame takes almost entire room and there is not much space to walk through. So many times I hit my legs on those sharp edges.
Overall, this was a big mistake. I definitely would not stay here again.
Complimentary pickup from airport. Right next to the Gish light rail station, which gives affordable access to the rail network. I saved a ton riding the train to the convention center instead of using a rideshare service or getting a more expensive closer hotel; the train goes directly to the convention center and costs $5 for 8 hours of access. Or $0 if you’re risky. Rooms are perfectly clean and service is nice, prompt and friendly.
Only cons: The breakfast sucks and my bathtub was clogged and would back up with water during the shower. But I have a feeling they would have fixed this if I asked. Service was always prompt any time I needed towels or toilet paper.
If you’re going to the convention center or a nearby area on a budget, I 100% recommend this place. Affordable, clean, and an incredibly accessible location with access to transit. I will probably come here again next year.
My preference and choice of stay when I’m in San Jose! Holiday inn San Jose. Had the chance to meet their amazing team. Talk to their maintenance team some witch are veteran + 20 years and the security detail. I found that old Monica I grew up with in stone service service service at every angle. From the bar serving you food to the representative behind the counter assisting with your check in checkouts or inquiries. The service alone made the experience more premium alone in my opinion. When I came home after long long days in the field I found the place relaxing and lively at the same time. So there are no surprises there is a small fee for parking due to limited parking so there are no surprises. If I could think of something to bring this place more value I would say USBC and usb chargers an or desk. PreCheck maintenance list per checkout unit so there is zero issues for new customers to find. I’m glad to have visited San Jose for the first time in my life and get to spend it with this hotel. Though I am a professional full-time rvers over 10 years I will be giving this facility another try when the moment presents itself. For me this hotel beats out the Aspen inn and that’s saying something.
Located at least 45 minutes by Uber from SFO Airport, I was accommodated at Holiday Inn San Jose – Silicon Valley after my United Airlines flight was cancelled.
Overall, the stay was acceptable for a short overnight transit, but the hotel feels quite dated and basic. The room was clean enough, but there was a noticeable unpleasant odour upon entering room no 112 which lingered throughout the stay. The furnishings and facilities are functional, though they could benefit from refurbishment.
The reception staff were courteous and efficient during check-in and check-out, and the overall service at the front desk was satisfactory.
I also had dinner at the hotel’s pub restaurant. The food was generally decent and service was acceptable. However, the calamari did not seem particularly fresh, which was disappointing. More concerning was that an expired mustard sauce was served with the dish. When I pointed this out to a staff member, the sauce was simply removed without any apology or acknowledgement. While the issue was addressed, the lack of concern or basic customer service recovery left a poor impression.
The hotel served its purpose as an emergency accommodation arranged by United Airlines, but between the dated room, unpleasant room odour, and the dining experience, there is certainly room for improvement.
