A wonderful and atmospheric place! Lots of games and arcade machines, and the vintage jukebox made a special impression. We didn’t have cash, and the bartender kindly gave us a few dollar bills so we could play pinball, that was such a nice touch! The beer was excellent, and I really enjoyed the whole experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Golden West Saloon is the oldest operating saloon in Fort Bragg, California. Although there are different stories about when it opened, the building is said to date back to the 1850’s. When you walk into this iconic bar, you will see it’s beautiful Oak and Birch bar dating back to the late 1800’s. With a marvelous selection of Whiskeys, Tequilas, Gins, and spirits, beers, and wines, they have whatever pleases your palate. Pool, shuffleboard, darts and cornhole are all available. Now with live entertainment and DJ’s on most weekends it is a local favorite. It is my “go to” place after a long day of hard work. This is definitely a locals bar. Located in the heart of downtown Fort Bragg on Redwood street.
Lots of character and lots of booze! This bar looks like it’s straight out of 1892. Lots of old memorabilia from logging days past. This is a pretty great dive bar with all the essentials. There’s pool tables ski ball tables and darts. Plenty of room on the long bar and lots of places to stand and drink. The staff is super friendly and always has a smile on their face. Stiff drinks and a good beer selection. The bathrooms are not great but that’s expected at a dive bar.
If you aren’t a local, the bartender will ignore you hoping you leave. Had to wait 10 minutes in an empty bar. Only 2 other people were at establishment.
