    Such a beautiful hike!

Fern Canyon to Falls Trail loop is incredible. We did the full loop (about 6 miles) and it was like walking through a jungle. The canyon floor is covered in massive ferns and towering redwoods that keep the trail cool and shaded the whole way.
The destination—the 36-foot waterfall—was flowing beautifully and makes for a perfect halfway rest spot. The trail is well-maintained and mostly level until you get closer to the falls. It’s a bit of a climb on the way out if you take the North Loop, but the scenery is worth every step.
Tip: It can get a little muddy in the canyon even if it hasn’t rained recently, so wear decent boots. Also, don’t miss the Devil’s Punchbowl near the park entrance while you’re there!

Wear waterproof shoes and a windbreaker; if you have walking sticks, even better, or find a thick branch. There are only a few uphill sections, but not many.
