The atmosphere is the worst thing about this place, though the service and food aren’t far behind.

It’s cavernous and loud, and when you’re trying to order, it’s impossible to hear what the employees are saying or asking you.

Maybe that’s why when I ordered a pastrami sandwich ( which is what the menu board called it)?, nobody suggested that I could have a Reuben sandwich or that that one was on the menu?

So I was given, was this very bland sandwich with pastrami (that was decent) but untoasted limp bread, and it was odd to me that they were offering to give me lettuce or mayonaise on a pastrami sandwich?!

I asked for some, what looked like sourkraut, that was in their hot table, just to have something more tasty, all my sandwich or more traditional pastrami sandwich and the guy said, oh, like a reuben? never mentioning that they had a ruben sandwich on the menu.

By the way, there are hot table of food. Looked actively gross period there was this very bland looking dry thing of spaghetti and then ribs that were a very bizarre dark color and gummy looking, some sort of roasted chicken and some sort of stuffed bell peppers that looked odd. None of it looked appetizing at all. I figured a sandwich was safest bet.

The service guys were not particularly nice. The atmosphere is dismal. It’s just loud with unattractive decor.

Will not return.

Great classic spot with an old-school vibe and friendly feel. The place is clean, cozy, and has that local charm you don’t find often anymore. I had the corned beef with cabbage and mashed potatoes — hearty, flavorful, and just the kind of comfort food I was hoping for. Portions were generous, and the meat was super tender.

Service was easy and efficient, and there’s plenty of space to sit and relax. Definitely coming back when I’m in the area.
