Edit to add: the Hilton team reached out, and I appreciate their fast attention.

Had a really weird experience at the front desk where a man walked in front of me and cut the line, and the (also white) front desk guy only acknowledged the other guy first. The front desk supervisor, who ended up being the one who “helped” me, made me ask for cookies instead of offering them.
I usually stick with Marriott, but I’d wanted to give Hilton a chance after a great Hilton stay at Minneapolis City Center, but this experience alone has left a bad taste. Not to mention the filthy, stained lamp (see the pic) in my room. I really, truly don’t want to know what’s on it.
Parking is expensive. Poor shower water pressure. Rooms feel older.
For the price and considering all of the other (cleaner, better front desk) options out there, I’d definitely go for somewhere else next visit to San Diego.
Rooms are decent. The breakfast restaurant, bar, and front desk servers are wonderful. They welcome you. But the location seems very key! In walking distance to the premium mall. Allot of eateries around and a grocery store not far either. And, I’m not sure how to access it from the hotel, but theirs a trolley that runs practically in from of the hotel. And my favorite; their cookies are warm and gooey!!!!!
The staff at this hotel is fantastic. They go way above what you expect. Renee along with Jack at the front desk, was super helpful and very attentive to our needs. This hotel is located in the middle of La Jolla in San Diego very convenient to everything. We ate breakfast the next morning at “The Windows” restaurant. “Sir” Charles our waiter was fantastic and super friendly. The chef, Shakira S. and the head cook, Ulisis, came out and introduced themselves. We had The Omelette, wheat toast and potatoes and it was amazing. Highly recommend this hotel because of the staff and experience.
I had a wonderful stay at this DoubleTree. The room was comfortable and well maintained. The entire staff- check in, lounge staff, housekeeping- were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in the Mission Valley area. There were places to eat in the hotel as well as a couple of restaurants within walking distance.
Edit: I want to recognize outstanding staff at the DoubleTree: Jack at the check in/lobby and Aurelia in housekeeping.
First time visit to this establishment. As I was here to attend a training event, I am rating my experience pertinent to the use of their meeting rooms. I attended a USCCA defensive dry fire training course, held at one of the meeting rooms of the hotel. This DoubleTree Hotel is easy to access from all locations and right off the freeway. It is also located next to a shopping mall and several restaurants. The hotel provides a parking garage for a moderate daily fee, although there is ample free parking nearby for patrons of the shopping mall businesses. Upon entering the hotel lobby, I immediately took in the tasteful and welcoming decor and lighting, high ceilings and soothing lightly aromatic filtration. The overall ambiance was quite pleasant! Reception staff were cordial and prompt. There were clearly marked directional signage providing a direct route to the meeting rooms. Definitely a great location for anyone wanting to reserve a meeting/conference room.
