We have now used D&I Landscape twice, and both experiences have been excellent.
What I appreciate most about them is that they are straightforward and dependable. They don’t make unrealistic promises during the sales process. For this project, they told us to expect about three to four weeks of work, but once they got started, everything progressed much faster than that. I much prefer a contractor who gives a conservative estimate and finishes early rather than promising an aggressive schedule and then making excuses.
This was a fairly significant project around our house: about 700 square feet of new pavers, refurbishing a 14×18 deck, adding a raised bed with soil, installing some additional water outlets, and taking care of the necessary drainage.
They also gave us choices rather than simply deciding on materials for us. They brought samples of both the pavers and the deck boards so we could see the options and choose what we wanted.
Communication throughout the project was very good. A project leader stayed closely involved, visited regularly, communicated with us by text, and continuously checked that everything was going according to plan. They frequently asked for our feedback, and whenever we had a question or wanted something adjusted, they responded right away.
The crew itself was professional and pleasant. They showed up early, stayed for full workdays, and kept the project moving. We didn’t experience the long periods where nobody shows up that can sometimes happen with construction projects. The site wasn’t perfectly cleaned up at the end of every single day, but it was never a mess either. They also cleaned up the dirt and debris that accumulated in the street several times during the project, which I appreciated.
The quality of the finished work is excellent. I was particularly impressed by the precision around the deck and pavers. The pavers were installed first, and the deck work followed later, yet the two surfaces ended up meeting perfectly at the same height. It’s one of those things that looks simple when it’s finished, but getting those measurements exactly right clearly takes experience.
Another thing I really appreciated was their attitude toward changes. We made a few modifications to the original plan while the work was underway, and they were happy to accommodate them. They didn’t use every little change as an opportunity to add another charge. They honored the original quote, which made the whole experience much more comfortable.
Their pricing is competitive, although they may not be the lowest bid you receive. For me, having a contractor who communicates well, shows up consistently, does quality work, and doesn’t create constant surprises is worth a lot.
We were very satisfied the first time we hired D&I, and we are just as satisfied after this project. I would happily recommend them.

I cannot say enough about Irvin and his team. He came out and we talked about our vision for our 30 year old back yard. He took my ideas and created a simple, classy space for us. His team was amazing, respectful and cleaned up every day before going home. They were always kind when we had questions, or concerns. They went the extra mile for sure. We had a space in the corner that had be covered for years and when they leveled out the yard you could see the fence was rotted at the bottom. To our pleasant surprise the last day someone fixed it, and they even offered to paint a few spots on the house that had been blocked for many years. That is customer service! We recently hired D & I Landscape for a major overhaul of our yard, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Irvin and his team were professional, thorough, and completed the entire project on schedule. They handled everything including a full yard cleanup, stump removal and installation of about 50 feet of beautiful redwood fencing and a matching gate.

In addition, they also did an incredible job with the hardscaping, including a river rock path with steel edging. They even took initiative to incorporate the old stepping stones that were removed in the new path at no extra cost! In addition, they fixed a front yard water leak and completely upgraded our irrigation system with new valves and timer. Their attention to detail was unmatched in every aspect of this project. Highly recommend!
