What a great place to have a quick sit down style bite to eat. Located in the heart of downtown Shoshone and open year round. Café on one side, local watering hole on the other. People are very friendly and service oriented. A great menu in the café and the bar is well stocked with brand labels as well as local flavors. Full service menu available from open to close with dedicated specials of town eats. From homemade biscuits and gravy for breakfast to a Rattlesnake chili that’ll bite your taste buds. Whether passing through or staying for your favorite hot springs stay, the Crowbar Café & Saloon is a must stop for a visit. Say hello to Stan, the chef and barkeep when you do. A wonderful employee who is always smiling and helpful

Shockingly good food and drink selection. Not what I was expecting in a tiny town. The chips and salsa are unreal – huge home made chips. I had veggie fajitas that were fantastic. Really high quality. Death Valley Black Cherry to wash it down. Do not pass by this place if you’re hungry.

Food safety issue. Keep driving. You literally need razor sharp teeth to bite into a Reuben. The meat was like trying to bite into a leather belt and not edible. The slices of meat were mostly fat. It went straight to the trashcan. The french fries, while freshly cut, were cold and limp when served. The Club Burger tasted like a frozen patty and didn’t have bacon on it, which is what they advertised in their menu. The potato salad had way too many onions in it. Not my jam. The staff seemed frazzled and overworked, and the kitchen was slow to make orders. I was told 20 to 25 minutes for a takeout and it was over 45 minutes before my food was served. I ordered straight off the menu, no special requests.

Stopped in for a quick bite when heading out of Death Valley. Probably the freshest salad I had in a few days hopping across DVNP restaurants.
The place has a historical old saloon feel, probably because it is for all intents and purposes the same building as the first settlers built it.
Over and above, the people running the place are friendly and polite. 5/5!

We came here, pretty hungry, after spending the day in Death Valley. Call this a captive audience meal as you don’t have much to choose from in the desert! After a couple of expensive Coor’s Lights, I had the dinner salad (good) and the Rattlesnake Chili (bad). Was hoping for something with a kick or spice level, but it tasted like canned chili from Dollar Tree. Really not good. Avoid. Her Fish Tacos were decent so you may want to pick and choose.
Our server, Rachel, was new and couldn’t really help us out on the menu.
Hey, gas station across the street and a bag of chips saved me in the end!
