I would say this was an all-around fantastic ice cream experience. They have some interesting flavors. The line was super long but it went fast. They even have a mushroom ice cream restaurant is immaculately clean and comfortable.

My family made an evening dessert stop at Cowlick’s. It was pretty busy, with the line sometimes extending out the door. There were plenty of staff working, probably as many as could in the small space. Service is good and the portions are generous. They have a solid variety of flavors and serving choices. There are a few fun, weird flavors too.
There is adequate table seating. Our table was clean enough, how clean is an ice cream parlor going to be on a Friday evening? It was fairly noisy, just as should be expected too. Parking is limited, street parking appears to be the option.
I’ve been there in the past, and I feel the place holds up. If I’m getting dessert in the evening in Fort Bragg or Mendocino, I’ll be going to Cowlick’s!

Are you looking for a great place to spoil your next meal with a delicious snackaroo?
I got you!
I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Fort Brag a couple of times this spring and the restaurants are good there, but Cowlick’s Ice Cream is not to be missed!
Everybody, but everybody is standing in line at Cowlick’s Ice Cream, waiting to get some great one-of-a-kind ice cream flavors, floats, and toppings in downtown Fort Bragg. They have regular cones, sugar cones, waffle cones, and my favorite, chocolate dipped waffle cones! Ice creams can be adorned with with toppings galore and surely you will want to eat a nutritious meal, but may just go back for more ice cream!
My personal favorite ice cream is the Hokey Pokey Honeycomb ice cream (on rotation, it is not available all the time). It is creamy and filled with honeycomb candy from a local Fort Bragg candy store! (Unfortunately for us, their the candy retail shop closed).
The shop is clean and spacious, with plenty of places to sit inside and enjoy ice cream or shakes while watching the goings on in downtown Fort Bragg. I have never been there when there wasn’t a wait to order, but it is well worth it! Locals and tourists alike can be consulted on flavor, cone or float choices. The clock is conveniently broken because when enjoying ice cream, who really cares about the time?
So yeah, go spoil your next meal with some Cowlick’s Ice Cream goodness! They won’t disappoint! If you by chance get addicted to the ice cream, I found the local grocery stores carry pints to go! Lucky us!

Man, this ice cream is so delicious. The staff are super friendly, and the store is clean and decorated nicely.
I have celiac disease, their ice cream is marked with allergens, and the employee went in the back and got me icecream from new tubs to ensure not cross contamination. They have GF cones, which are yummy and fall apart easily (like most GF things) so the employee put my ice cream in a cup and cone on top!!! Perfect. Will come back again for sure. (hokeypokey is soooo good)

There are so many options available in this ice cream shop, where to begin? Ice cream, sundaes, smoothies, shakes, Italian soda, and even root beer floats! There are several choices of flavors and even seasonal. One of the most popular flavors are black raspberry. The most unique flavors include mushroom and ginger! The workers were kind, the establishment was clean, the wait wasn’t too long. There are places to sit in the shop and savor your dessert. It is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
