Stayed here on Saturday, Oct 24th. We picked this hotel because of its proximity to the Gaslight area. The room was basic, clean, but a bit worn. The AC was a window unit and the glass was single pane. Our room was in the corner of the building and the street noise was very loud until around 2 or 3am. The breakfast had something for everyone such as eggs, sausage, muffins, bagels, cereal, juices, tea , coffee and more. Hotel parking was outside and $50 a night. Front desk help was accommodating and nice. I think I would stay here again, but ask for a different room away from the street.

I was a little worried before my stay because of the mixed reviews, but it turned out to be much better than I expected! The room was a bit dated, but it was cozy, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The bed was also really comfy, and I especially enjoyed the breakfast, which was surprisingly delicious!

The room was perfect for a solo traveler, and the location was another big plus—right in the heart of downtown San Diego. Overall, I had a really pleasant stay and would happily stay here again!

Best location for the price in a very lively neighborhood. Short walks to anywhere downtown. Rooms are small but nice and comfy and clean with fridge and microwave. Very nice staff. Decent breakfast.

The rooms have the window A/C units, so be prepared for city noise especially on the weekends. Bring earplugs. Loud car stereos, motorcycles, crazy homeless people, sirens, trash/delivery trucks all will noticeable at all hours.

Look into parking at one of the garages close by instead of paying $50 a day for their lot. Also if you do use Park It on Market just down the block which was $16 per day, that is for one in/out per day at their garage. You cannot come and go multiple times, so plan your days accordingly. I’d rather my car is parked inside a garage rather than being on the street.

Given all the other downtown options for so much more money this is a no frills not fancy alternative and I’d gladly stay here again next time I am in town.

Good location right by all the bars, restaurants, and the convention center. Also within walking distance of public transportation. Hotel staff were nice. The breakfast was OK with the common eggs, sausages, cereal, bread, and bagels you can toast, juice, and coffee. You can hear just about everything outside of the room. Heard some homeless people randomly yelling outside the hotel overnight. Since you’re near the bars, you’ll definitely hear intoxicated people yelling too. I had called ahead of booking to ask about parking prices and the woman I spoke to had quoted $25 per night, but when I got there, they told me $50 per night. You can save on parking if you plan accordingly and pay for street parking or use reputable third party parking apps. It’s two hour max for street parking, but can be extended if using the parking meter app. You can use third party parking apps for overnight parking at a nearby garage or parking lot. Both alternatives costs way less than the hotel parking.

Location is great. Rooms are small but affordable. Our room was clean. Basic cable tv was terrible but firestick compatible. King bed was comfortable. Free breakfast was 2/5 star. We parked on the street to avoid the $50 parking fee. Free WiFi isn’t great. I’ll stay again though.
