I purchased a 2013 Nissan Murano from CarMax after saving $5,000 for a down payment, hoping to finally have a dependable vehicle. Unfortunately, in less than three months, the transmission completely failed. Even worse, it happened just over the warranty mileage limit, and CarMax refused to help, offer any assistance, or provide a refund.

A transmission should not fail that quickly after purchase, especially from a company that advertises quality and reliability. I understand warranties have limits, but when a major issue happens almost immediately after buying a vehicle, I expected some level of customer support or accountability. Instead, I was left dealing with a huge repair bill on a car I had barely owned.

The financial impact has been devastating. After working hard and saving for that down payment, we eventually had no choice but to voluntarily repossess the vehicle because we could not afford the situation. Now, on top of losing the car, we are still left paying off the loan for a vehicle we no longer even have.

This experience has been heartbreaking and extremely disappointing. I would strongly encourage anyone considering buying a used vehicle to do extensive research, inspect everything thoroughly, and fully understand what happens if something major goes wrong shortly after purchase.
