The gelato is very icy and not smooth at all. Cashier had to take our order three times to get it right so the communication is lacking. As I am writing this some customer is having a hard time to ordering her coffee and thought she got another coffee, but they didn’t take the order correctly and was speaking clearly.

I visited Caffè Mezza Luna in the evening, about 5 minutes before closing. The café itself was very cute and beautiful, and I really liked the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the customer service was very disappointing. The man behind the espresso machine looked at me and said, “We are closed, we aren’t serving you,” with a very rude attitude. I completely understand businesses closing on time, but the way I was treated was unprofessional and unfriendly. It left me very disappointed with the experience.

Absolutely scrumptious affogato and pastries! A huge selection of sweets (think tarts, tiramisu, cake, croissants, bread) and savory goods too. Plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. Fast service. Great ambiance with the ocean/harbor views. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Half Moon Bay. The s’mores bar was a 10/10.

Really nice cafe offshoot of the main Mezza Luna restaurant down the street. They have great breakfast options and lots of treats. Staff are always friendly and eager to help. The inside is nicely decorated and feels like an old school cafe. It’s a nice spot to start your day at, especially since it’s easier to park here than the rest of HMB

This cute and cozy place provided a warm and inviting atmosphere on a rainy day. However, the pastries were disappointing, lacking anything special in flavor. The crepe omelette was dry, which was a letdown. Moreover, the small cup of coffee was surprisingly priced at over $8. One thing I must add, staff were extremely helpful polite and friendly!!! Although I suggest giving this place a try at least once, my experience was lackluster enough that I won’t be returning in the future.
