If I had to sum it up in one word I’d say incredible. We started later in the morning around 10 and had the whole trail to ourselves which felt safe and private. The views down to the ocean are just stunning once you get past the dense part of the forest it opens up completely. The path was a little more overgrown then I expected but that just made it feel more adventerous and raw. Definately pack water and give yourself time to just sit on the bluff and stare at the water it was a perfect mini escape.

It is a beach trail lots of pebbles embedded in the sand. It is a walk from parking and it’s hard on senior citizens with mobility challenge.

Beautiful and different beach, we camped here for a night and absolutely love it, so serene. Extremely dangerous beach, do not swim here, waves are massive, enjoy the beach from distance 😉 we met some local people here too, very nice people, we loved it here and would come back any chance get.

I really enjoyed this scenic spot. It was fairly easy to reach and definitely worth the trip.

The main issue I have with Black Sand Beach is that you actually can’t go into it. There are several sign that say people have lost their lives, and sneaker waves are common. So make sure you and the kids are not going here for a good swim.

Aside from that, the beach was very beautiful. The beach was clean, and there were very few people around, which made it feel very intimate. The view was remarkable, and again, I highly recommend this spot as long as you are going for an amazing view and not a swim.
