First time dining here and the experience was phenomenal ! As soon as you walk in everyone was so welcoming and quick to serve us, the prices are very good for the servings you are offered. Server was amazing at being friendly and communication with the order, we were asked about the meal while eating but not asked so many times it became annoying which I love. The wait time from wording the food to recieving was under 10 minutes ! The only thing I would of asked to be different was the pot roast, i’d like it in a bowl instead of on the plate. Overall food was amazing meat was tender and seasoned well, fries, mac and cheese, chili were all AMAZING. Definitely will be coming back.

Oh how Ive missed you. They tried to bring BBD to Oklahoma, but it was Not the same. Which would explain why not many are left. Just cant compare to what you get in CA. Food was delicious. Waitress seemed a bit exhausted from her day already, but Im sure she has been here since they opened this morning. Overall a good experience. Hope to come back before we head home.

My family and I just dined at Black Bear Diner and had an amazing experience. Our server, Raymond, was incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our meal. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and that our dining experience was exceptional.
In today’s world, especially after COVID, it’s rare to find this level of genuine customer service. Raymond’s positive attitude, attention to detail, and genuine care for his guests truly stood out. Black Bear Diner is fortunate to have employees like him who make customers feel welcomed and valued.
My parents are regular customers and usually have Lola as their server. They always rave about how sweet, attentive, and caring she is as well. It’s wonderful to see that this level of service isn’t limited to one employee—it speaks volumes about the team and culture at Black Bear Diner.
Because of the amazing service, I don’t want to forget to mention that the food was absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was fantastic. However, we were so wowed by the exceptional service that the great food almost felt like a bonus.
Thank you, Raymond, Lola, and the entire team for making our visit so enjoyable. We will definitely be back!

I wish this place would be half decent. For some reason I keep torturing myself. Maybe this will be my final time. While my done in experience has always been ok, almost every single time we order take out it goes terribly. The order is always missing something. My wife often ordered the turkey and gravy plate and they always miss the cranberry. My kids sausage has been missed a few times, and twice now my bacon burger has been missing bacon. I’ve gotten in the habit of opening the bag to take a look for main things, but this last time I forgot about the bacon being missing last time and I didn’t open my burger up before leaving. I got home and found that the bacon was missing, so I went back to get it thinking it would be easy, no big deal, people make mistakes. I only live about 2 minutes away. I get there and this time the manager Roberto gives me a hard time and asks why I didn’t bring the burger back with me. For real? Who is going to go through that much effort to lie about a piece of bacon? He pretty much called me a liar at this point and refused to correct the mistake. I made the trip back home and brought the burger back eventually getting the bacon that I paid for, finally sitting down to eat an hour later. I think this time I’m done. Good luck to all that take their chance at this place, at least as long as the current management and cooks are allowed to continue.

I know 2 locations of the Black Bear Dinner (Los Angeles). This is my first time at Oakley. Today, too many people, the wait could take up to 50 minutes (it’s something reasonable being a father’s day). Good attention, I can’t complain. Only one thing, I don’t know whose mistake, cooking or waiter, but our food was served very, very late, more than 1 hour waiting. 2 tables They came much more after us, and they were served first (and I’m talking about tables of up to more than 7 people. ) That’s my only claim. for everything else excellent,
