Interesting location – wasn’t great for many of the Redwoods, but close to freeway. The pool was grungy and had too much shade for 70 degree weather. But the rooms were clean and very friendly service. My son LOVED the waffles at breakfast and the staff there was also efficient and friendly. It was also very quiet.

The place is okay, but when traveling with a pet, there’s no guarantee you’ll get a ground-floor room, and there’s no elevator. Unfortunately, my elderly dog can’t use the steep stairs, so this was a huge damper on our stay. I understand that this won’t be an issue for most people, but pet owners for whom this might be a concern should be warned.

Friendly Front Desk. Includes free breakfast, which was scammed eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereal and string cheese. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Good shampoo, conditioner and body wash set up in tub/shower.

The beds were very comfortable, room was decent motel quality. Close to a 24 hour diner called Toni’s with fantastic desserts, and I highly recommend going into Arcata for a crepe at Renata’s for breakfast. The laundry room was a nice value add, but the dryer didn’t dry. It’s right off the highway and great if you’re road tripping to the redwoods!

I am so incredibly surprised! It has been years since I last stayed at a Best Western, but this experience totally changed my perspective. The hotel was absolutely perfect for our needs.
Our room was spotless and very comfortable, providing the perfect home base for our trip. I was also impressed by the laundry facilities—they were super clean and easy to use. The breakfast exceeded my expectations as well; it was a fantastic spread to start the day.
The staff truly stood out, too—very attentive and welcoming throughout our stay. The real “topper” for us was the great green space. They even have a dedicated dog area fully stocked with bags. It’s such a thoughtful touch, though it’s a bit disappointing when other pet owners don’t take advantage of the bags to clean up after their pets.
